what is there to debunk, it's just a thought. there's no real argument, no source, nothing.

the whole gaymge culture started because of elo, because normally you shouldn't mind playing vs gay tactics. the entire concept of a tactic being "gay" was born from people who were upset they lost elo to it OR their opponents did it better than they did and won the game and elo thanks to it. a tactic to win shouldn't be gay. it's considered gay because you have elo to protect, and if you lose to tactics that you have a hard time countering, you'll blame your loss on those regular effevtive tactics. that's counter productive and does not encourage improving in a healthy environment with a positive attitude.

some, and i do say some people who play only for elo can be vey toxic. most just play gay and sometimes drop a bomb in chat and that's that, but others will harrass people about winning or losing elo, eventually dropping heavy insults.
granted, people will always be toxic like that about winning and losing, but having elo encourages people to strive to win. in an idea world and anywhere else than mge this is a good thing. the problem is people become toxic when they lose/others get upset about them using cheap tactics to win instead of focusing on practicing aiming.

IMO the fundamental problem with elo is that it gives people something to "defend" in mge. having low elo means you can afford not to care and focus on practicing, but when you get to a certain score, no matter who you are you'll probably always feel that itch when you start losing the elo that kinda proves you can win games. then you'll want to recover it. the only way to get above that is to lose ego completely, or hide the elo permanently. just my opinion.

removing elo fixes the problem, because people no longer have anything to feed their ego with except a chat message recording who won/lost. you no longer have anything to prove and defend.

do i need to download the whitelist or does tftrue fetch it automatically upon loading a config?
