#44 b4nny LAN? in TF2 General Discussion

Forgive my ignorance on travel within NA but how far seems reasonable to travel for an iseries-esque LAN? We had specs/players from all over Europe for i58 but most of them travelled for under 10hrs to get to the event, including trains etc. and didn't spend more than a hundred pounds on travel.

I don't know how expensive or slow travel is within the US, would people only travel within their region?

You posted the editing link in here which is very risky, and DHW/DHS was dollars not euros.

The reverse i46. The dream.

#8 b4nny LAN? in TF2 General Discussion

We were chatting about a couple of ideas at i58, would be sick if their idea comes to fruition. Having two global LANs a year (one NA and one EU), even at the cost of all other cups throughout the year, would be great for tf2.

Best players currently? I'd have to go with b4nny, Mike, Stark... then it gets tough. Probably kaptain, hafficool currently but it's way closer outside the top three. There are also players who aren't playing who would make the "best of all time" look pretty different.

#63 Ways to discourage stalemating in 5cp in TF2 General Discussion

Give teams another lan to practice for and they'll all have arrow building down, get better with kritz, and use the banners too. FT have been playing against it for ages now and they're beginning to crack it. Compared to how they were playing before where they just gave up once pushed to last and lost 3-0 every time, they've gone a long way to cracking it. I would like to see slight map alterations for points that are crazy difficult to push and another koth map in the pool but overall I think it's something we'll see teams become good enough and creative enough to counter.

#58 Coach to i58 maybe unfair? in TF2 General Discussion

Have you ever tried to control a pug team even when you're playing? How on earth could you control six dm donkeys from spec?! While I think it has its pros and cons and I'm personally not that keen on igl coaches in tf2, some of these posts are madness! Kaidus calling from demo was better than kaidus calling from spec, and as stark said a team who has that igl style player like banny on Froyotech would get virtually 0 from an igl coach.

Ipz coached them online before the event. They didn't want someone in the comms, you have to build synergy and trust their calls.

b4nny was super chill and friendly all event, was out with everyone on the night after he was knocked out and we had a great time. Way more social than at previous LANs, helped that he got knocked out and didn't have to focus I guess. No salt only good times, he was a pleasure to be with unlike the people posting here seem to think.

#16 i58 - The Last TF2 LAN in The Dumpster

The wider context of that quote was that this will be the last time we play with 'our' historic version of 6s. Over a year after MM, at i61, I cannot see any way we're playing without a lot of game-changing weapons or alternate class limits - this is likely to be either our last 'classic 6s' LAN or our last competitive LAN. It's also the last LAN we'll see a lot of the players and talent at but that was not my original point when doing the interview.
