#3 Steam games not opening in Off Topic

Hi Marxist, thanks for the reply.

I didn't change anything myself, some games open fine in the correct resolution or in a 16:9 resolution but a lot have the error.

I fixed the error when it occurred in 'Bioshock: infinite' by doing the following:

http://steamcommunity.com/app/8870/discussions/0/828937979229979741/

I also solved it in 'The Wolf Among Us' by pressing alt+enter to go into windowed mode and then change the resolution of the game when it was in windowed mode.

Unfortunately most games won't go into windowed mode and it's a massive pain in the arse to find all the stuff I need to edit in the system files.

EDIT: My GFX is Radeon HD6800 and Windows 7 64 bit.

#1 Steam games not opening in Off Topic

When I open games in Steam by default they are in different resolutions than what I have my desktop set to (1920x1080). Because of this conflict the screen just turns black or even turns my monitor off. Some games I managed to get working by having to modify the default resolution it launches the games in within the system files but it is a massive pain in the arse.

How can I get all games to launch by default to the resolution I have my desktop set to?

#132 I49 VTV Constructive Criticism in TF2 General Discussion
NizzaSmithsonianwe can't expect perfection but we can expect professionalismThis, this, this!

We all know, that VanillaTV isn't a company, that works professionally, but does it for fun and interest. But at least, they should prepare a bit for the interviews. And since we are on it:

We all know the EU vs. USA drama, but at least it should be kept inside the viewer community (even that is not good, don't understand me wrong), but Skully is really biased and as longer the tournament goes, he gets more biased.

Edit:

There are so many ppl in the chat, who are insulting a mom with her son. I mean, WTF, do we really need that. TF2 gets a really good viewership and when someone is tuning in the stream, all he sees is shit like "that fat woman with her kid xoxo" or "please stop that narwal eating her kid"...not even mentioning the insulting of suddenlystarmia and the fake nude picture, that was just embarrassing...

Private note for those guys: Grow up assholes!

1. Totally agree with interviews. Short concise questions please. It's the player we want to hear from.

2. Picking out Skully specifically seems rather harsh. Everyone is playing the biased angle including Sal and Lange. It's all in jest and good fun with no malice intended so picking out one specific person for it just seems strange.

3. There really seems to be some poisonous people in this community. What should be grown men acting like children. Seeing the stream chat at times is just pathetic.

yukimustardoverlordthe problem was that iM never does double solly aggression on mid, yuki just sits back and pockets, and zebbosai + jukebox countered it
I actually started to jump aggressively on the later mids, but I did nothing because people were already dying as I was in the air.

Oh well, it was a fun experience. ggss

So gutted for you man, really wanted to see you boys on that main stage after watching your bootcamp and the progression you made, would have made for a great story. Loved your interviews man, you seem a class act.

So gutted for iM. Such a shame, wanted to see them in final against Epsilon. Their lack of aggression after going 4-0 just let Zebbosai and Jukebox bomb them over and over on mid. Best defense is a good offense.

kwanzaanice unbiased gentlemen in the crowd I see...

And when HRG edged past iM the NA's in the stream chat were as reserved and unbiased as you're renowned for...

nerkulOkay, gentleman's agreement between Enigma and Byte. All we needed to know. When the community make it clear they love your coverage and would rather see both VTV and tf.tv than just one, it's a commendably bold move to step back and acknowledge your rival's victory. Props to all.

Do you always put 1 and 1 together and make 3?

nerkulThat's my point. Why didn't tf.tv plan coverage? Was it just a gentleman's agreement after VTV won the production rights?

Where does that say coverage wasn't planned?

nerkulI've no idea nor any bias either way. Somebody is fucking the community and lying about it. Might want to get to the bottom of that so they can't do the same next year, don't you think?

People maybe aren't necessarily lying on purpose, maybe people are confusing correlation and causation.

But spreading vicious rumours as truths is doing this already divided community no good.

Perhaps you misunderstood Ruwin. Perhaps Ruwin drew conclusions that weren't there. Whatever happened only appears to be totally inflammatory and now baseless.

This community acts like high school girls at times, gossiping and spreading bullshit everywhere for no apparent reason. It's pathetic.

Are you accusing tf.tv of extreme pettiness?

After accepting Lange and Sal with open arms and inviting others to work alongside them, do you not think it would be strange for VTV to suddenly try and sabotage TF.TV?

nerkulatmonerkulNext year, no org can get exclusive stv rights. Missing games is totally unacceptable. Y'all need to get over your egos and do what's best for the community.Do you have a source for this?
Ruwin said it, plus the fact that nobody is streaming except VTV. Plus, tf.tv not planning coverage suggests they already knew.

Remind me, weren't TF.TV crew and staff invited and are actually casting and working alongside VTV for this LAN? Oh yes that's right, they are. So why this shit about VTV sabotaging the STVs?

This TF.TV vs. VTV shit is just polarising the community and throwing out baseless accusations and rumours just perpetuates it! Both you and Ruwin need to find out the real reasons before spouting your shit as fact.

EDIT:
Please use alerts for score updates in the other games please, would be fantastic.

Tell Skully to take a deep breath to focus so he's not tripping over his words so much.

No more Pyrion Flax or whoever. He may be a huge DOTA 2 community member or something but when watching Football I don't want to hear Peter Alliss commentating just because he knows Golf.

Other than that I would like to say thank you to all the VTV and the TF.TV staff to give us the hours and hours of free great coverage via their hard work.
