The current method of making sure people are present when a pug starts needs to be replaced. I believe a better method would be an AFK check right before captaining is about to start, similar to how TF2Center makes sure everyone is present. This would more accurately show who is actually present, and it would give people who may have forgotten they were added up, a chance to leave.

Cool guy, but he seriously needs a new mic.
You need to use Urban Dictionary to learn the language of the internet.
Great scout, great DM and whatnot.
That being said he has some flaws. This usually never happened in matches but in scrims dflame would at times be silent for large periods of time; only comming something in mumble every minute or so. dflame was also late to most scrims we had, it posed as a minor annoyance to the team.
All in all, a great scout but he needs to talk more and be on time for scrims. And i'm sure if he's dedicated to the team he'll do all that.
ComangliaNot likely, I disincluded some outliers from the getgo cause I highly doubt the 1 guy who said he used a "6ft/360" or 72in/360
If that was cloridium, he's not joking. There was a thread somewhere (not tftv) talking about his sens but I'm not sure where it is.
bearodactylThat sounds like a bad idea first because there isn't any sure way to figure out how good a player is and quantatively capture that with elo (higher DPM doesn't account for baiting and such), and second because if a player gets picked on a losing team in a roll but are still clearly better than their team overall, they would get penalized.
If captains want to look up stats they can, just as long as they do so in less than three minutes. An elo for captains would be cool imo (goes up when your team wins, down if you lose) because it would be easier to measure than an individual's and represents how good they are at captaining.
What if instead of an elo ranking it was something like the ranking beta.tf2playerrankings.com has.
If the elo system for captains were to be implemented then the number of captains would decline a bit. While most of the time quality is better than quantity this would result in fewer pugs. If a player ranking was provided for captains it would encourage more quality captains and more pugs.
This may or may not be a good idea. But why not add a hidden elo for all players to help out captains when they pick. Captains wouldn't 100% go by this while they pick, it would merely be a suggestion in case the captain isn't sure what to do.
With the amount of people playing on pugme it's not always possible for a captain to know how to pick no matter how many pugs they have played.
I'm sure this would help especially help captains who just look at the logs of everyone added to see who's the best pick. I'm looking at you indust.

This thread makes me want to change my sensitivity.
swagmachineaim-looks like a day as scout in a lobby
show me a single lobby of yours where you got 60 frags and 550 dpm as scout.

Let's have all the scout mains post their logs.
In my opinion you'd have to be a pretty bad cheater to average 400 dpm as scout in tf2center lobbies like this guy does.
Came to the thread expecting stuff regarding open teams and open players. I end up just seeing posts about IM players and memes.
Whatever happened to that MGE iT server? I remember it shutting down but I kept hearing that it was getting put back up again "soon".
Props and people keep disappearing; had to make a bind to record and stop a demo. Helped a bit, however I keep crashing a few minutes after I do this.
The current season of CEVO has been a disaster for most of open I'd say. My team kept running into scheduling problems. We'd try to play a match and something or another would go wrong and the match would get moved back. Eventually we started playing matches 2-3 weeks later than when we should have. And when a team forfeit loss it just meant we had to schedule another match as CEVO doesn't really allow you to have forfeit wins. I know this wasn't just exclusive for my team as other teams we played against had similar problems. We even saw a few teams die right before we play them because their leader was so sick of rescheduling.
There's also the fact that everybody in the Main or IM division got moved down to open as there weren't enough players in Main. This caused quite a few issues, often you'd either be matched up against an easy team or a team that was so much higher than your skill level. Rarely did we get put into an even match up.
I believe that because of all this many many teams ended up dying before the season ended(including mine). For me CEVO was a complete disaster and I'm not sure what I want to do next season. Give CEVO a second chance, or spend quite a bit of money to play in ESEA.
Now maybe others in CEVO had a different experience I don't know. But this is what I experienced.
