This is long overdue. I've had the same pc for about 8-10 years now, and it's finally going to shit, OS being Windows 7, and I plan on getting a Windows 10 Pro license for my next build.
I mainly play Valve games, and will not need majorly expensive parts, however, I would like hardware that is more mature (maybe > 1 year) so that the BIOS (firmware) and drivers are mature and may eliminate some of the variables.
Once I find suitable parts, I may need help constructing the pc as I'm not a genuis.

I've been in that situation before, there's no real solution to the in-game slider, but to change the size of the crosshair without experiencing that "expanding" effect all you have to do is change the size via console.
"cl_crosshair_scale (size)".
r1cetl;dr mat_viewportupscale 1, needs to be in the autoexec
the config is using the command "mat_viewportscale <number less than 1>" to decrease the rendered resolution, while keeping the display at 1080p
the viewportupscale command will take this lower-resolution, and, basically, up-scale it!

my pc is not an apple product god damnit
so i changed my config from the comanglia toaster config to another config, and for some reason the sides of my screen are glitchy as fuck. in the options it still says my native resolution is 1920 x 1080. i believe the toaster config had something to do with the change in resolution, and now i am using another config, it's glitched

Snackr_drawviewmodel 0 seems to work for me
r_drawviewmodel 0 doesn't seem to work for me
as you guys know there is an annoying viewmodel error when using a fov higher than 93, which makes a left arm stick out for classes such as soldier, spy, demo. is there any way to get rid of this? all of the fixes i've come across require dxlevel 90, but my cpu is too shitty to handle that.
