#8 stock vs the original in TF2 General Discussion

Here's how I see it (having learned on stock, but used Original for a few weeks):

Original:
+ Turn equal distance to jump from either side, making jumps on your left take less time than with stock
+ Easier to aim rockets, as they come out of the center
+ Can spam around left corners easier than with Stock
+ Quieter, can't hear rockets fired from it as easily
- Takes longer to jump on your right since you have to turn further
- You might be less effective with DH (if you decide it'd be useful for something), and if loadouts go down
- Cannot spam around the right of a corner as easily

Stock:
+ Jump faster with jumps on right side
+ Spams around right corners much easier
+ More consistent with no loadout/DH
- Jumps slower from left (you have to turn further)
- Can't spam as effectively around left corners

So looking at these pros and cons, the only real advantage the original seems to have is being more consistent w/ jumps or spamming with respect to which side you're on (which is balanced out by the stock having much better results on one side, but worse results on the other), and being easier to aim (which, if you spend enough time with the stock RL, is completely negated since you can aim it just fine after you get used to it), and the fact that it's quieter. However I find it VERY useful to be able to corner-spam with the stock RL, something you can do much better with it than with the original. It's also nice to have stock for when items go down.

In the end, I think it's really just personal preference, but I think the stock might be slightly better.

#10 For hitscan, which is better, flicking or tracking in TF2 General Discussion

I think it was lange who said this but I don't remember. Tracking is good because it is more consistent, and as you get better at it, you'll do it faster. Then, while it might look like a flick shot to someone else, what you actually did was just track to them really really quickly.

I'd say working on your tracking, and save flick-shots for when you have zero time to react, or you're feeling really lucky.

#135 Invite Player Rule lifting- made any difference? in TF2 General Discussion

The thing is, when all teams are forced to have 1 of each, they are no longer 'worse' classes, because there will always be a situation that they are useful. Since there's always a spy, there's always good reason to have a pyro hanging around. Since there's always an engie and sniper, there's good reason to have a spy around. Since there's always a heavy, having a sniper is good. Those classes might only be considered 'lesser' classes if you look strictly at the 6v6 format. But looking at a larger scale, those classes can go toe-to-toe with any cookie cutter class in terms of pure DM.

And I would choose highlander set up. If I wanted 2 scouts, I'd play 6s. Highlander is fun because all classes are played, so no matter which one you enjoy playing the most in pubs, you can play it in highlander. If spy was replaced by scout, I think a lot of the highlander community would quit. Not just the spies, but the people who enjoy seeing one of every class.

#22 Can I touch a girl after they've touched me? in Off Topic

tit for tat. She touches you somewhere, you get to touch her there too, absolutely.

Tip: Get her to feel how well-defined your pecs are ;)

#132 Invite Player Rule lifting- made any difference? in TF2 General Discussion

bsc, I totally agree with your post, very well put. Mustard, the other classes are definitely not worse than the main 6s classes, but since they are much less mobile, they are forced to be situational classes.

#119 Invite Player Rule lifting- made any difference? in TF2 General Discussion

#119 It's done quite often (not so much on badwater cause the normal roof spot is just way stronger), but often on gravel pit. The guy that used to play engie for our team once wrangeler jumped himself up to the roof on gpit B because our demo and soldier were dead, and someone had to kill that enemy soldier on the roof.

Still loving this scoreboard, but it'd still be awesome to see avatars and that friend icon. Does anybody have any idea how to make those show?
