The EVO 212+ cooler is great for not even $30. My stock fan was 50c sometimes even idle. When I got my EVO 212+ I OC'd from 3.2GHz to 3.85GHz (Quad Core) and under full load never goes over 50c, usually sits around 35.
I have the AMD 955 (3.2GHz) and once I got my CPU cooler I OC'd to 3.85GHz. I play on 1680x1050 medium settings/2x MSAA and get 200-400FPS, so AMD isn't all that bad for just $100. :)
Thank you. Really liking RaysHUD btw. :D
Thanks again guys, lastly can I just ask what rates most use to be safe? cmd/update/rate?
Hey guys I'm completely new (to the competitive side) and was just wondering for some advice on settings. Now I know when you see this you're gonna sigh and wish I searched, but I did and either get a mix of different results or it's outdated so I'm not sure what to think.
1) What dxlevel?! and do you still put -dxlevel xx in launch options then take it out after the first loadup or leave it there?
2) Hud, I know most people have different ones these days but what's a common competitive one?
Thanks in advance, got a lot of crashes due to stuff in my config before so trying to start new/fresh with the right settings (dxlevel mostly).
Newer ASUS, 144Hz, 1ms, 24" - $280! Waiting for more reviews, cause better specs at $100 less just sounds too good.
Hopefully it goes on late, cause I'll be late. :x
I recently switched from the massive Antec 1200 full-tower to the CM HAF 912. It's simple, small, holds enough fans in the right places and can store 2 large GPUs (might have to take out the removable HD cage though). Best of all it's $50-60.
Or there's the slightly larger 922 listed above (it's CoolerMaster, not Corsair btw) :P
