hitheredokidokipanichitherei am better shitposteryou know i always thought your name was "hit here" only occurred to me recently that its hi there
it is hit here
oh shit
pretty sure im mentoring his steel team this season. nothing wrong with wanting to get into open, but if everyone and their mom is saying you have attitude problems, you might wanna look into that.
4lphalfadokidokipanicrofl thats me that does that
Yeah, it gets quite annoying. Personally, I'd prefer not to get updates every 5min saying that you still need people for pugs. Those notifications stay up, so if you're away, you'll see it when you get back. And if you do see the first one and can't play, usually you asking repeatedly won't change the decision.
Maybe ask, wait 15min, ask again, and if you don't get anyone wait a hour or call it off.
idk, maybe its just me, but I found the spam really irritating, so I left the group. Cereal or blaze messages me to play anyways even though you send the notification out, so I still know when it goes on.
haha ok were thinking about different things. i usually do one message 15 times at once. youre thinking about updates on how many more people we need, and i never do those.
4lphalfaHave you guys fixed the copious amounts of spam you guys send out yet? Cause besides getting 10 notifications whenever you guys were pugging, they weren't half bad.
rofl thats me that does that
marmadukeGRYLLSdokidokipanici think part of this can be attributed to american tf2 and the amount of time players have per match. if there was less time per map, there would be more of a reason to play faster if not more aggressively. Europe has been doing that in comparison to NA but maybe it could be worth it to have even less than 30 minutes on a map.
if you're down a round, then yeah you have to. up a round? park the bus. you can eat up to 1/3 of the ENTIRE MATCH by sitting on one point and refusing to push. that would just amplify with an even shorter match time.
if there's big money on the line: no matter what the ruleset is once a team gains an advantage (a round, won mid, etc) they're going to play as safely as they can. if they're up a round expect them to sit on mid forever. if they've won mid expect them to play insanely far back and send in 1 suicide who can either off class or just go suicide again until it works.
alright, final offer. best of seven, one round on each of seven maps.
marmadukeGRYLLSthere's plenty of money to be made from pubbers, valve/any corporation has no real incentive to risk losing money when they've already got a cash cow.
not to mention the level of shitty/boring/stalematey/defensive/uber safe play would fucking SKYROCKET if there was an actual big chunk of change on the line. look at how BP played and that was for what like $5-6k? imagine how fucking extra ultra shitty this game would be if there was $250,000 on the line for a bo3
tf2 is a fun game and shit but its just too easy to play super homo and safe and make for an absolutely terrible game to both watch and play. i mean we see that now with ultra vagina scouts who run away if they get chipped to 150, only take fights with shit thats basically dead already, etc. I dig that it's the smart thing to do and all that but sweet fuck god bless ya'll for being able to not blow your brains out while doing that.
the meta would go to the deepest darkest depths of the dumpster if there was ever real money involved.

EDIT: also lose some weight
ayy we have a full roster now: http://play.esea.net/teams/92369

DreamboatplinkoI, personally, think the whitelist could be expanded significantly without major damage to the game, leaving all but the most broken items in and most people wouldn't run them. It would make games a touch gimmicky and slow the game down at times, but if it would make Valve suddenly turn the car around and give big time support to comp, it would be 100% worth it, IMHO.
Lets do it then, maybe we could make a pug group, super expand the whitelist, and if anything we leave in is actually broken/game changing, remove it. See how far we can open up the whitelist?
also gig can you yell at their scouts to stop offclassing so much and at the same time as each other. their scouts are crazy good but need some fucking discipline.
