Hello everyone.
Looks like the Chilling in North Korea flag has been flown for the last time in S15. (I guess I used the roster last season but S16 was hardly legitimate.) Time to meet new friends, try new things!
Anyway, I guess I'm on the search now for ESEA S17. I'll be very up-front in saying that I'm looking to not maincall, or at least not maincall on an aggressive team. S15 may have been my best performance but I'm pretty much unproven in an aggressive environment. People who know me know I play a calculated, passive style of Medic that isn't very popular. While I'm certainly conservative by nature, I feel that a key component of why I played TF2 the way I did with Chilling in North Korea was because I was maincaller. In an environment where nobody else was maincalling, I relied on my passive philosophy to lead the team, since others were not comfortable with the task. If I'm the listener, however, I can just Medic, place heals on the right people, and play the follower. I'd be lying if I said that I wouldn't want to at least try aggro Medic.
Another big problem is that I'm still in Hong Kong, and won't return to the U.S. until July 15th. I'd guess that S17 will start around that time, but probably not before, given LAN is June 29th. Obviously, dedicated teams will have probably ideally found their Medic before then and have been practicing, etc. This is also the same reason why it's unlikely I rebuild the NK roster. But I can guarantee you that I will prepare and put in the time regardless of how soon I join a team. I'll be willing to try anything while I'm still in Hong Kong, too, if that means getting up early to play 200 ping Medic for a pseudo-tryout - since I did that for pretty much all of S16 lol - I'll do it.
I consider myself a huge self-critic, calling myself out on mistakes / being bad mid-scrim or when going back through POVs. I am an advocate of watching team and individual POVs with teammates to further improve. I'm usually available most nights unless I tell someone otherwise, and will be EST when I return to the U.S.
