A reminder that I need teams signed up and paid by 6:30 PM today. The table I'm sitting at is directly next to the main stage, so find me and sign up! Group stage will be starting at 7 PM.
Online ticket sales will be closed at 11:59 PM ET on 2/13, but you can still buy your ticket at the door.
Get your tickets online here. Ticket sales can now be purchased only at the door.
MiG-21bisJust got T8, first non-smash fighting game I have ever played. How long does it take for people to actually understand what moves to use and when? On the demo I just mashed 3 moves.
You generally want to use ~10 moves in neutral, give or take a few moves depending on the character. If you watch pro matches, you'll see about 10-15 moves used a lot to give you a good idea of what to use. When to use these moves is a little subjective and depends on the situation and your read of your opponent.
Today is the last day to order rentals for PCs and monitors!
The final price increase increase for tickets is February 1st ($85->$90).
Still sticking with Alisa for now, and will play anyone online or at RGB!
There will be in-game medals for this event for 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, and anyone else who participated. :3
As the event gets closer and closer, we're coming up on some important dates.
Hotel link expires: Jan 16th
Refund deadline: Jan 16th
Last day to order a t-shirt: Jan 22nd
Last day to order rental items: Jan 29th
Final price increase: Feb 1st ($85->$90)
If you have any questions about any of these dates/deadlines, head to our Discord and ask in the #support channel for a quick reply, otherwise you can ask here.
Also, one of the hotels finally got back to us about a block deal. Use this link while rooms last: http://bit.ly/hotels-rgb
Over the past week, I've reached out to teams and various individual players not yet on teams to see if starting group stage on Friday night will work for them. I gave everyone the team signup deadline of 6:30 PM on Friday night, followed by group stage starting at 7 PM. Every single response I received said that there will be no issue with those times, along with a couple saying that they'd have to rearrange their schedule to make that work but it wouldn't be a problem.
That being said, I'm officially confirming the following in the schedule:
Team signup deadline: Friday (2/16) at 6:30 PM
Group stage: Friday (2/16) at 7 PM
Double elimination: Saturday (2/17) at 11 AM
If someone on your team can't make a group stage match in time, you may use a ringer. Just a reminder that group stage is used only for seeding and no one gets eliminated.
If anyone wants to complete their first round match of double elimination on Friday night, you'll be allowed as long as both teams agree.
If anyone has any questions or concerns, please let me know.
Regarding hotels, both nearby hotels are extremely busy and not steadily replying to us at the moment. Due to how quickly these hotels fill up, I'd suggest buying a hotel room now instead of waiting. If we do eventually get a block code, I'll post it here right away.
Additionally, the new ticketing system doesn't easily allow us to make changes to existing tickets, whether it's adding on a rental or changing your seat. If you think you might purchase a rental, just purchase the rental with your ticket and let us know if you need a refund if you decide you don't need it. Likewise, if you need to change your seat, it's easiest to refund your ticket and then buy a new ticket with your desired seat.
Tickets will be going live at 2 PM ET today!

sandblastis that poll still happening, hopefully if people respond it can be a 2 day event from Friday and Saturday no rush if it's being made just wanna know what the chances are if we could hopefully get people to show up friday.
I will start reaching out to teams and players starting next week. You may also post in this thread in this thread if you'd be able to start your group stage matches at roughly 7 PM on Friday. If you wouldn't be able to make it that early (or Friday night at all), also say so. I don't want to do a strawpoll or anything, because there'd be no easy way to verify if votes are authentic to people actually attending the LAN. Regardless, I'll make sure to reach out to many people who regularly attend.
Unrelated, but will be posting rental info hopefully within a few days. :) The ticket page should also be going up rather soon.
Also, the same anonymous $600 donation from the previous canceled date will be applied to this tournament's prize pool. :)
