i think the first video essays i saw were from kaptain kristan. liked his style and i genuinely enjoy the growing popularity of video essays in general.
I think banning people for cheating should be a higher priority than banning players for smurfing tbh
I think the early days of LAN events lead gamers to believe that the future of esports would be like those days but on a larger scale. Years down the line we all learned that all industries are the same and whatever makes the sponsor the most money is what you can expect more of. I do not know if there is a way for things to be better than they currently are, but I am sure you can tell that I personally am rather jaded when it comes to the current state of esports.
did clockwork cuck b4nny at a lan or was that a weird fever dream i had
wow the more i read about the history of this place, seems like this "middle east" has always sucked!
SoalaWhile I do think this community could lighten up a bit with the toxic behavior just outwardly towards everything not in their personal circlejerk, certain players who time and time again go against people's trust dont deserve a place in the community.
If you go so far to seek attention and validation by cheating not once but twice, then I dont see a point in welcoming them back.
That said, I do think people can grow and we should foster that with the ability to accept people back who may have been unsavory in the past. At it's baseline its all about trust and the ability of the person to build their reputation, I don't think it's unfair to be cautious about individuals who have ruined their reputation by doing whatever.
i wish we had good enough anti-cheat that we didnt have to worry about who cheated in the past etc. i do not support the use of hacks or understand the reason behind trying to use them in a competitive setting, but the thought of potentially good players getting perma banned due to hacking previously bothers me. do any competitive games have good anti-cheat these days?

eisenhower on pocket soldier (army general, good at maincalling)
obama on roaming soldier (good at bombing people)
bush on demoman (demolitions expert)
andrew jackson on pocket scout (he wins 1v1s)
nixon on flank scout (goes for ballsy sneaky stuff)
jfk on medic (nobody is surprised or upset when he drops to a sniper)
u do not have to be good at tf2 u just have to never say any slurs or anything rude. its not that hard guys...
would you rather play a competitive videogame against hackers or groomers
played a couple hundred hours of pyro on CTF_Turbine and had enough of the game. Saw the Yogscast TF2 Charity Mixup with STAR_ and realized there were other maps and the other classes looked fun. Ended up forcing my IRL friends to join my UGC Iron team and play with me a year later and now one of my housemates is some greasy dude I met playing TF2 in like 2013.
