#3 Verifying tf2 files??? in TF2 General Discussion

Ever since the Halloween update for me, same deal. Did both things the Steam Support article suggested: renaming that .blob file and refreshing the Steam installation. Still verifies on first launch.

I hear reinstalling fixes it, but 12 GB is a pain. Wonder if a restored backup would work...

#7 New Coolermaster TK Keyboard in Hardware
radsYou're a gamer. You know that a mechanical keyboard means the difference between winning and losing.

I wonder now if there's a paragraph of gamer marketing that someone would be comfortable reading aloud in a public space.

#70 missing ddl links in TF2 General Discussion

I've got this movie whose filename is cl0ckworked. Buncha Scout sprees by clockwork, 1:50 long. Can't find it on YouTube or anywhere on the internet for that matter. The song is Gone Away by Bag Raiders.

Has this been posted here under a different name? If not, is it needed?

#52 nasty food combinations in TF2 General Discussion

Snow flavoured with ginger ale.

KwaziI used to eat ketchup and rice when I was younger

Strange. That's exactly how my parents got me eating rice, even though that combination is pretty nasty now. Apparently I vacuumed it right up as a kid.

#13 Scout strafe help in Q/A Help
L-block -stuff-
wait but then
isnt it obviously the same speed??? im confused

It is the same speed, but it looks jittery sometimes. It's one of those weird things Scouts do, like how Scouts with crouchjump scripts (or just really quick fingers) sometimes do the 'launched by an explosion limbs flailing' animation on double jump.

EDIT: Quote format.

Models in TF2 don't have the smoothest right-to-left transitions, so it can get wonky when coupled with latency, I guess. I know what you mean though, what with the crazy stutter-stepping some people do.

#13 how do i get a black outline arounf my cross in TF2 General Discussion

You don't have to abandon your current HUD. You can transplant the new crosshair into your current one. Rays published a good guide on that. After that, you can do what pot says and add the outline.

#6 what would you do? in TF2 General Discussion

If there's one thing postsecondary taught me, it's to never compare yourself to other people. You could do it in high school just fine, because there were always people worse off than you. We're wired to make comparisons, but in the postsecondary environment there's a lot of stellar achievement going on, and it'll just make you depressed. You can finish a paper on god damned plants, and the next thing you know, you get to read about some guy who's the next Erasmus Darwin or something. It's just how it goes.

You are who you are, and trying to hold yourself to some arbitrary and slippery standard is going to be a pain. It's trite advice, but just keep moving forward and finish that major in however long you need to take, not according to how long someone else needs.

#8 how do i get a black outline arounf my cross in TF2 General Discussion

tf2mate does not deal in HUD crosshairs, which seems to be what you're looking for. I can confirm now that garm3nHUD has the crosshair you want. Check it out. It comes with full installation instructions, too.

EDIT: I should add that if you want to preview the crosshair, download the .rar of screenshots. The one you want is shown under 4MP Version\CrossHairs\CrosshairNormal.jpg

EDIT2: It's closer to CrossHairRequest.jpg in that folder. Credits to Geknaiir for pointing that out.

GeknaiirThis is the video with the xhair. I just don't know the link to get it. clips and stuff

I think that crosshair is built into garm3nHUD. Try it out. I'll ask lights when he comes online to be sure.

#6 Quick Lawena Question in Q/A Help

Thanks for the input guys. I did what kirby said and the only problem is that crosshairs won't turn off. It seems this setting overrides your config. I remember it 'locking' viewmodels at one point, so I suppose it locks crosshairs too? I have disable crosshair checked off.
