#7 Call of Duty Ghosts Min Requirements in Other Games
kirbyAs much as I am a fan of the series (more so the earlier installments, pls dont hurt me), I gotta say something is fucked about the minimum requirements. Either the new guys have no idea how to code for new hardware or they done fucked up somewhere.

Maybe they're anticipating disk space for the never-ending season of DLC.

#134 Pokemon X/Y in Other Games
TwinqeEdit: They have scaling to level 50. The effect is the same as if it were 100, so battling is still accessible even if your pokemon aren't max level, assuming you have EV trained them.

You're pretty much bang-on with that, but if we want to get kinda finicky with numbers (and hey, this is a Pokemon thread) I believe the 50 flat battles slightly skew stats by one or two points: something to do with the 252/252/8 spread being halved. In short, there's an optimal way to get EVs for flat battling and another optimal way to get EVs for standard play.

Again, not something to be awfully concerned about but it's there.

Also, yeah, try to avoid posting links to ROMs and the like. Regardless of whether or not you agree with intentions of posting it, the fact remains that it doesn't belong here.

Always wanted a Poison/Dragon. This Dragalgae thing looks like an abortion but I'll take it.

Also, Eviolite Tyrunt is murdering everything horribly, everyone should try it.

#6 The great Gatsby in Off Topic

It's pretty good, but I don't really get all the fuss about it either. I did like the underlying commentary about the author using Nick Carraway. Reminds me of Tim O'Brien's The Things They Carried in that it's a story about writing a story.

If your flag were palette swapped I would have +fragged just for that.

#5 Scheme help in TF2 General Discussion

I have a feeling you go to Waterloo and are taking CS 115/135, and if you this is true and you skimped out on buying the textbook, there's a free version online at http://htdp.org/

But as someone spent two semesters doing Scheme in CS, I feel your pain. But never, ever, skip lectures.

Twinqeman, namida had some ridiculous sniping on Viaduct

I've never seen a sniper hit shots so consistently on flying/jumping/wildly strafing targets. Every fight was punctuated by a rifle shot every 1.5 seconds with an accompanying crit crackle half the time. Scary, just scary.

Pre-ordered my X already. Midterms are coming up but I don't even care: hype status has been attained.

#91 America in Off Topic

Big jolly friendly neighbour downstairs who is like us, but has some weird beliefs and uses a strange measurement system and doesn't drink milk out of bags. We see what he does to people he doesn't like and it scares us a little, but laugh (sometimes we laugh so hard the milk shoots out of our noses) and get along with him pretty well for the most part.

We just hope that one day, he doesn't decide he doesn't like milk bags.

#45 Patent For HL3 Filed in TF2 General Discussion

I played HL2 pretty late, so by the time I got around to it, it was pretty par-the-course in terms of shooter mechanics and I never got the urge to go back and try HL1 as a result.

From what I've garnered it was groundbreaking at the time of release, so if the trend continues, I'm definitely eager to see what HL3 can bring.

As someone is stuck with meds which cost more than the refrigerator used to store them, I've gotta say, this crash-course in American politics is horrifying.

#7 300 sandwiches for the engagement ring in Off Topic

It is certainly interesting how the article author managed to avoid entirely the overwhelmingly negative contemporary connotation of the sandwich. In my opinion, it's a bit ugly but it does beg to be addressed.
