I just pulled up enough slack on my EC2's cord and keep it held down with a paper clip on the side of my desk.

That's rough, mana. Hope everything works out for you.
krakowUC Berkeley is a shithole for undergrad and its only gonna get worse if they continue to mass-enroll international students. Good thing I'm done after this semester.
My friend is an international student and she was considering them, until she called their admissions office for information and the officer there listened to half her situation before laughing and literally telling her to "fuck off". I suppose the guy could have been having a bad day but I'll be damned if it didn't colour my view of that place just a bit, heh.
manaSo, I was checking to sign up (as they just recently opened) and it turns out, I can't even enroll in a course because there's a waitlist on all of the course that qualified for my degree (I need 1 course).
I just got completely screwed out of a degree, probably permanently.
Forgive my ignorance, but what kind of system would allow something like that to even happen?
Suiting up and shipping out in September.
Going from a powerful desktop to a 60 hz/Celsius laptop is going to be painful.
I've got a Cooler Master NotePal U2. If you have a laptop bag (like a bag, not a zippy-case thingy) you can flip it around and secure the laptop in it with two elastics and still fit it in the laptop bag. You can also remove the fans and place them anywhere you want on the bottom since they attach to the mesh on the underside. I find it works decently enough.
One downside is that it's kinda huge, but you probably game on a desk, so it should be all right.
Lost it at the first image in the comments.
Anyway, looks sketchy. If it did what it claimed, the armed forces would already be all over this technology.
CTs not going for the fastcat this round
Long story short, got hospitalized for bowel disease a few years ago. In the hospital there wasn't enough space in the hospital building itself, so I was in the hallway for three days.
An elderly lady died in the stretcher beside me one night, begging the nurses for water the entire time. Doctor told her daughter as gently as he could that any fluids he gave to her mother would prolong her suffering. The look on her daughter's face was beyond words.
I figure that when I die and I meet the all-powerful guy who runs this bloody joke of a show, I'm going to have a real good question for him to answer.
RenhetToastyTHTI really dislike the word fail (call me crazy, something about the culture surrounding it)What really irritates me about it is people have forgotten that failure is the correct form most of the time they use it.
However much of this thread is quite amusing
Same thing happened with reveal/revelation, but now, no one really cares too much about it. Give it a few years and it'll be standard.
Carefully scanning this thread to see if I can say 'soccer' without getting struck by an angry European or South American with a dictionary.
...alright, seems good.
LineI am a student, I don't have a job and live with a parent.
Strange how an admission like this would get -fragged in this day and age.

RadmanI think the absolute biggest thing fighting games (and rts and mobas) have over TF2 is the viewers perspective. When we're forced to watch only one persons POV in a TF2 match, youre forcing the viewer to fill in all the blanks with their own game knowledge, which is kind of unwieldy for casual viewing.
Nailed it. Unless you're already familiar with the environment the players are playing in, people are going to be lost. A fighting game is usually a 2D plane with two characters fighting. A top-down game RTS style game using actual terrain like DotA/StarCraft is easy enough to grasp. A sports match like basketball and soccer not only has a huge fanbase, but they're also viewed from a bird's-eye perspective.
Capturing the action of, say, a roamer bombing into a team to cause a distraction for Scouts to clean up, or a split push in CS:GO is maddening when trying to grab it all live with one camera angle to work with. Switching angles rapidly is disorienting to spectate, and even worse for newer viewers.
Solving this would be really complicated, I'd imagine. Accessibility is murder with first-person team games.
Probably unintentional, but the overheal particles at 0:08 looked like snowflakes at 360p, which complemented the song rather well.
