Well, it's good to see places popping up for the NA that aren't TF2C.. :P

Suprisingly I haven't been banned (yet)
pascalJust to give some perspective:
TF2center took years to develop.
TF2.gg only took a few months to have a working system, but that's because we had a beast programmer who was very experienced. We were also working on an ELO-based tier system - if this new project has that then a lot of time is required for testing it since it hasn't been properly done before.
Honestly I don't know if we would be able to make a viable TF2center alternative before MM comes out. It seems that MM has been making a lot of progress and we've already gotten hints to what it will be like. Unless the TF2center devs jump ship onto this new project, it may be smarter to wait for MM.
You'd be suprised. I managed to prototype a previous version of my server rental site in the space of about a day. It matters how determined the people in the project are :P
SchallaomnivibhavpomnivibhavpAnybody wants to help write a better replacement? Add me, maybe we can flesh out something
PS: Matchmaking's going to come anyway, but it should be a fun experience nevertheless!
If this is a genuine thing, I'd get involved. Not that I can code or do much, but I can fund servers and I also do own the domain for league.tf and that's a pretty nice domain to hold on to.
I'm pretty serious. It shouldn't be that hard to get a working prototype in a week or two, which can possibly sustain us till MM arrives.
Let me know more if you decide to start it up. I'll happily help out however I can and help pay server costs.
I think you underestimate the effort. If you create a site with just some kind of PHP REST API it might break relative fast, since the demand for that site could be quite high and such a architecture scales bad. 1-2 weeks for creating the website, the server and the source plugin would be a fulltime job.
However, I would be in for discussions. Any ideas how to organize that?
In theory it could be done with a PHP REST API and AJAX, although that would inevitably fall apart pretty quickly.

MM could also end up being a complete trainwreck - which with valve - that wouldn't suprise me.
I heard that TF2Pickup is supposedly expanding to other regions soon, so hopefully that will give the NA scene somewhere other than TF2C to go.
Edit: am I being minus'd because people hate me or because people don't believe me?
BonafideVoidWhispererI have nothing against you personally mate ;) I just was kind of tired of the way TF2C admins acted, and felt like acting like an assBonafidePyromancerEven in the beta Masternoob acted like this, banning people that focused him, or that said something as a joke to him in mumble and kick them from the game lolhoolihow can you be old enough to be married and still act like a childBecause when you amass that much power it goes to your head.
I can't believe I'm actually agreeing with you given yesterday, but this is kind of true.
I kinda regret going as far as I did yesterday standing up for some of that stuff..

REM_TF2I used to work at TF2C as a mod and was also put in charge of the feedback section of the forums. I cannot stress enough how much I disagree with Masternoob on this. I'm now boycotting the site.
The point of sponsoring an event like this is to support the community not to exert your influence over people/organisations. I cannot imagine any scenario where RTC's attendance would've been negative for the LAN. This is purely Masternoob acting on a personal vendetta and it wouldn't be the first time.
Now they've lost yet another member of staff who has done a fantastic job on the site as far as I can tell. It makes me sad to see a site with such great potential be slowly destroyed by certain individual's actions after so many people put so much work into it.
Good luck and kudos to the people behind DeutschLan and TF2Pickup. Unfortunately I cannot afford to go but if you guys need any help with the running/organisation I’ll be glad to help out.
Shame on the admins of TF2Center who are responsible for this decision.
AndKennethKkaltuu don't even bother posting an internal discussion. They deleted my post when I quit, and they've been deleting tonberrys few recent posts trying to call them out as well.
The bullying does not only extend to the larger tf2 community, it's internal as well.
Wow. Things have gotten worse then, at least they kept my post around for a bit...
I think deutschlan has an indiegogo going.
As much as I've tried to defend TF2C in the past, and this point I honestly don't think I'm capable of defending this. What MN did is inexcusable and are making me contemplate why I'm still representing them.
Edit: I have also decided to resign from TF2C.
Just added something so that people can reserve mumble servers!
We've now hit over 2k reservations. :)
I'm very suprised by the response the site has gotten. It was orginally just a project to get rid of my extra resources on my servers, and now over the space of about a month we've gotten nearly 2000 reservations.
ArieJust a serveme.tf clone!
xD <3 <3 <3
Haha. :P
MaksYeah but do you have 50000 servers or however many the tf2games guy claimed to have
Nope. But my site is actually a tangible thing :D
