#190 Med speed buff removal EU DMIXES in TF2 General Discussion
twiikuuCollaideWhile we're on the topic of stickies, aren't they randomly dispersed by a tiny amount when you fire them? Does this ever make a difference? What would be the reason for that even? There is a random spread and random rotation applied on pipes and stickies. It makes sense for stickies because no random would allow you to put 8 stickies down and it would look like one.

If you had no random spread but still had random rotation the stickies should look different if you have multiple stacked on top of one another. I don't know if that's possible though.

#11 ETF2L Season 36 announced in News
mustardoverlordspeaking as someone in favor of reverting the med speed buff, I think it's still prolly right to give that one time to be tested and hopefully do it for next season (same goes for rgl)

the others are no brainers ofc

How is it going to be tested? We tried to scrim it but eventually people stopped wanting to play us because ‘it’s not being used in the season’. This was as good a time as ever to introduce it (no lan because of corona). I guess people are going to play more mixes with it (when they aren’t scrimming most nights) but eventually with 12 random players playing you hit a wall in terms of useful play testing.

gibusGritomadbkfundamental game changes like projectiles ignore teammates or speed buff need more testingwhat needs to be tested? no pocket has ever watched three straight rockets get absorbed into his tanking demos fat ass as he exists in choke and said "yes good, print" instead of dealing approximately 75 damage worth of spam to an overhealed classi dont like the idea of having rockets you can't see appear out of nowhere to kill you

how many times is that gonna happen vs. how many times teammate randomly walks in front of your rocket

#3 How to take 40% less self damage on soldier in TF2 General Discussion

June 19, 2008 Patch (Pyro update): Removed Soldier's 40% damage reduction from his own rockets. Does not affect rocket jumps

thanks to twiikuu and leth for bringing this up in the plugin discord

#1 How to take 40% less self damage on soldier in TF2 General Discussion

Sorry if this is already common knowledge.

Soldier takes 40% less self-damage when he is in the air as opposed to when he is on the ground. This is irrespective of if his rocket hits a player or the soldier has gunboats equipped. This means when fighting point-blank as a soldier, make sure you jump before shooting a rocket (for example, flanking granary second point through Z).

#6 Positive side of the code leak? in TF2 General Discussion

It is exactly the same as making plugins normally but finding what you want to change is quicker, if valve are okay with plugins normally (surf, jump, 100% crits etc.) they will be fine with this

sacYeeHawA ‘promod’ client already exists...it’s called ‘tf2 classic’ and I couldn’t even get 11 other people to install it to mixyea, bunnyhopping heavies surely is what we needed.

It's just vanilla TF2 (bhopping is not on by default and is just a command like the smod plugins), there are no unlocks even in the game apart from the universally agreed good ones (xbow, ubersaw, kritz, gunboats, original, basher etc.) and some non-controversial tweaks such as no scout move speed on meds. It had all the QoL fixes from the past 13 years of the game as well and ran at usually 300-400 fps (i.e. a lot higher than the modern version). Turns out no one wanted to spend 2 hours downloading it.
I'm just trying to say that if people want a 'promod' they could theoretically play that but no one is realistically going to download it. It has to be in the current steam version of TF2 to be palatable otherwise people are not going to play it
