this got downvoted but to clarify i like this because using 1, 2, 3, 4 inhibits movement as you cannot hold w/d and switch weapons at the same time

SidularHere's a possible whitelist - http://whitelist.tf/6806
Here's the global from last season - http://whitelist.tf/competitive_6v6
We're pretty much going to use one of them, or some kind of in-between. Not sure yet.
There's also a chance we may not use either. This is all dependant on whether or not the quick fix and soda popper continue to be allowed in the global whitelist moving forward. Either we'll just revert to what the whitelist was for last season, or we'll create our own. Still undecided.
Any feedback?
Try rewind whitelist +pomson +dalokos bar -machina and maybe -natascha
CollaideYeeHawJust because they are the best weapon in slot, it doesn't mean they are overpowered compared to the game as a whole (assuming that is the logic you are using to determine which weapons are overpowered). It eliminates options and decisions because its power leverl is so much higher than anything else.
YeeHawYou wouldn't say the boston basher is overpowered, would you?In the current state of competitive where scout is the strongest class and all soldiers can't build ubers (due to gunboats) it is contextually overpowered. In a vacuum, no, it's not.
YeeHawDespite it having 100% equip rate.Source ?
YeeHawTake the ubersaw for example, people would just use the amputator if the ubersaw was banned (assuming solemn vow isnt unbanned). So the question becomes, would you rather play with ubersaw or amputator? If you ban the ubersaw, the amputator will be used 100% of the time. And? that's amputator isn't nearly as powerful when compared to to the bonesaw as the ubersaw is compared to the amputator.
YeeHaw If you don't, the ubersaw will be used 100% of the time. Ultimately, it's up to preference which weapon people want to play with.Or we try and get it nerfed.
YeeHawNote: Why don't more medics run the amputator? You get +3 hp regeneration and rarely get an ubersaw anyway, seems like it could be viable or better than the ubersaw (depending on which skill bracket you play in).Because even though it's more consistent, it's not gamechanging like the ubersaw. A lucky ubersaw hit on a player who fell victim of the games hitreg can turn the tides of games, health regeneration, probably not.
I was just using the ubersaw-amputator as an example, not as a serious point. We've been trying to get sandman, dds etc. nerfed for ages and nothing changed so I don't know why that would change now.
You aren't really removing options by keeping these weapons banned/unbanned, you're just choosing a different option (crossbow 100% equip rate or overdose 100% equip rate?).
CollaideOn another note, people have no interest in banning insanely overpowered weapons like the crusaders crossbow, ubersaw, escape plan. I wonder why.

fnmNub_Danishrandoyou know dingo pulled a scam to get money for weed like 2 years ago lolmathemaphysicistI live in the heights but how can I trust you :methinking:You caught me. I've played this game for 5 years all leading up to this point just so I can get a free 120hz monitor out of it.
rando ≠ dingo
do you have a source for that?
KonceptDecapotatoYou guys do realize that banning the crossbow is yet another scout buff right
I guess the better question to ask is when is scout getting nerfed rather than what is going to be buffed
making shotgun soldier viable instead so scout's skill ceiling isnt lowered may be better
AmarokRentQNIf you allow weapons that use game mechanics the other weapons don't use then yes, it does add something to the game mechanically.Cow mangler, same mechanics, is played the same way that stock, appart from a few gimmicks like the charged shot that is really irritating to play against. Looks horrible. Takes away ammo management making roamer rotation sometimes inexistant, gives perma spam... It doesn't add any skilled mechanics, play with words if you want, but it's not variety if it doesn't change the way you would abord a fight. Plus I'd rather have a game orientated towards how poeple play individually and has a team rather that "what weapon you choose at the beginning of a round" like in ow...
RentQNI think asking to ban stuff, to take away options, without any good reason other than you don't see why we need them is pretty stupid. You said it yourself, if it doesn't add anything positive to the game but has a negative effect or is annyoing to play against, why not ban it. I was talking more about the fact that I've seen people not wanting to ban stuff on the mere fact that they weren't blantantly overpowered and game breaking, even if they were unfun to play against.
More options to choose from is always better than less options if there isn't any real reason to not have certain options.
I'm not even complaining, I'm just criticizing the approach of certain players supposed to be quite experienced regarding the whitelist...
LegendaryRQABecause that's not how basically every other E-Sport works. In dota, you don't get to remove Eye of Skadi because its "unfun to play against".TF2 had unlocks implemented for pub plays, it wasn't an esport until the community decided it would be one, and I'm sorry but if you think weapons like the eyelander, the sandman or the base jumper have a place in an esport I can't do anything for you...

Good thing this game isn't an esport (with money in it) and we aren't the developers of this game so we don't have to worry about that!
