ghadilliI understand that you guys are sensitive gamers, but if you want people to stop making fun of you for lying and being incompetent, stop lying and being incompetent. It literally could not be any simpler. You guys have had literal years to sort this shit out and it keeps happening every few weeks like clockwork. Either make a change or put on your big boy pants and live with the fact that doing a shitty job means people are going to be upset with you. This 'hey i know you guys are upset that we've proven to be incompetent on repeat every few weeks for years now and we refuse to make a change for the better, but please be nice :)' act is beyond aggravating. Grow up.
Let me preface this all by saying I am not going to defend every action that every admin has ever made in RGL history.
However, since you are replying specifically to Scream, let's look at some facts:
- This is Scream's first season as an admin.
- Scream has multiple seasons of advanced 6s, he is clearly good at the game.
- Scream has, throughout this thread, advocated for the correct decisions to be made, as well as been exceptionally respectful and patient.
- Bonus fact: he also claimed to have advocated for a change in the ruling regarding the actual OP of the thread.
If we, as a community, want more admins that are good players, patient, respectful, and make good decisions, we should recognize it when we see it.
I know it feels good to get mad at someone and that sort of thing, but that is not how progress is made.
Now this last part is conjecture, but I think if we support the admins, such as Scream, who consistently advocate for what is right, we can perhaps get these admins into places where they have the power to make decisions that benefit everyone.

What happens with current 12v12 matchmaking, and when is all this coming?
In the next 2–3 months, FACEIT 12v12 matchmaking will see some small improvements whilst we are working on the new PLAY experience for the whole community. We’ll also be working more actively on support for 6v6 competitive, which — given our history as a competitive platform — we are confident that we can effectively serve with our current set of tools and features.
Soon we will share a new blog with you that contains detailed information about the new experience we are developing, together with a timeline on when it will be accessible to the public, alongside details of new server locations and further information on our plan for the 6v6 competitive community.
RahmedIt's not a mystery that the TF2 community needs more producers, casters, stream artists, developers, etc.
Basically, we need more people on the broadcasting side - so we need some ideas that can best showcase, and generate interest, the fun and skill involved in tf2 broadcasting. What ideas can you think of?
I definitely think this idea is right, like the issue is not lack of talent or willingness. I think the community needs to do cool shit that is worth having an editor or artist for.
For example, we are having the billdozer cup, but besides it just being new and having a good prizepool, this is just another 6s tournament. Nothing really interesting, there is always tons of 6s being played by all the same teams.
I think if we want to incentivize the creation of interesting content, we also have to be responsible for what is actually being played. Maybe we actually do a draft tournament or a bball tournament or something that mixes up the traditional format.
Let me know what y'all think
threethreeWho has the most? Also how many players total are there?
T. has the most with 939, followed closely by a few others, see here
There are 7745 players who played 5 or more logs (which is what I use in the map) and about 12000 total players in 2021.
In addition, sorry for not finding you guys yet, trying to work on a V2 so that isn't a problem anymore.
Sorry for not responding to everyone who posted IDs, I was getting some much needed sleep and will look you up later this afternoon.
It seems like the common threads of issues are as follows:
- not interactive/hard to find players
- names are from either from first log of 2021 or from demoticks.tf API which may produce the same result
- the grouping are not as optimal as I think they should be. You get nice trends but in general the strongest gravitational force seems to be that large nodes that have a lot of shared logs attract each other very strongly. This skews the graph and seems to leave smaller nodes in suboptimal positions.

alfredodanI have reason to believe this data is inaccurate, Cadet has more logs this year than me which is false. Also why is my name on here an alias I had like 6 months ago
I believe the only limitation in this regard is that I am missing the last couple of weeks of logs because kastaling hasn't downloaded them yet.
So in summary, I plan to address these issues and a few more in a future version. Probably next weekend.
I'm going to try out smaller and larger datasets as well and see how that affects the outcome as well. (Especially once the season is over I can use an RGL S6 Dataset, eventually could filter by division)
In addition going to try out some different software and see if I can find some more effective layout algorithms
Update: It is lagging the server, getting a better one brb
TimTumarcadiaBingo on the first. The closer you are to someone the more logs you share with that person. Simple as that
Could be just me, but that doesn't look very accurate looking at myself and some other people.
It depends sort of. The method serves to illustrate the larger trends, as its hard to exactly make everyone perfectly next to every person they share logs with. The generation is randomly seeded so you can get shuffled next to lots of random people but on the whole the grouping will always trend the same way

Wild_RumpusIs there any way to make it a pdf with searchable text?
Try this, I haven't opened it in a real PDF viewer so not sure if it works.
dave2dan_cCan someone explain for a low IQ gamer what I am looking at?
Each circle is a player, the larger the circle, the more logs they had in 2021. Grouping is by region, and color is by division. (I believe)
Bingo on the first. The closer you are to someone the more logs you share with that person. Simple as that

A few weeks ago I saw this map of twitch streamers and thought about doing something similar in TF2 with logs.
Finally got around to it yesterday. The size of your circle is your total (2021) number of logs, the closer you are to people, the more logs you share with them.
Big Credits to Kastaling, enthrow, 24, Bv, Flac and others for all the help with this project. Could not have been done without any of them.
How I got the data:
I ran through all of Kastaling's logs with a python script to collect the count of logs, along with the amount of logs that each player shares.
Then I got a bunch of names from a bunch of places and added them into the data
Finally I used Gephi to make the visualization.
