I was afraid that this whole thing would somehow turn into an attack against me, when I had absolutely nothing to do with the way it all turned out. Pyyyour asked me for a POV demo and I agreed. Essentially that's where my involvement ends. I was just as disappointed as anyone with how a few people in the chat were acting (specifically Doctorploxo), and I respect Brad's decision to call it off. Maybe if I would have stood up for him then and there it would have turned out different, but I doubt it, and it's too late for that anyways!
As far as this apparent inability I have to listen to criticism, I had already let Brad know about a few of the mistakes I had made in that match and was hoping to hear about a lot more from him. He and his teammates have obviously done a lot of work to develop a playstyle that completely destroys me, so obviously there are massive holes in my game. So even if I played well in that match there was still a lot I could learn from it. I was sitting in chat, even ready to join mumble with him, prepared to listen to his ideas, discuss those mistakes and offer any insight as to what was going through my head during the match. I don't really think I act like I believe the hype on this "infallible" bullshit.
dMenacekirbyESEA pugs used to be fun. Possibly a question unrelated as I cannot remember if pugs play a role in this but, can you still get prizes or whatever from ESEA?I think so, but at best a mousepad or a shitty mouse.
When we were actively doing ESEA pugs a couple seasons ago their prizes were nicer: a videocard for most points, a headset for most ubers, and a mouse/mousepad for most captures. Shortly after we stopped using the system, they reduced the prizes to just 3 mousepad coupons. I could see them upgrading/expanding the prizes if it was used more.

Didn't realize they had videos on things other than math. Thanks.

I am familiar with those first three sites, and i'd say that videos of this nature were a big reason I have gotten so into science these past few years (specifically sixtysymbols really got me into physics). They're presented in an interesting, informative and entertaining way all at the same time. Thanks :)
I'm planning on taking a chemistry placement test to save myself from taking a prerequisite class, but I haven't taken chemistry since my high school class 4 years ago. Can anyone recommend a good source of chemistry tutorials/explanations to refresh my memory? Luckily I only need to get 40% on the test to pass, so maybe I could try winging it but I'd like to be somewhat prepared.
I dont think you should scrap the middle point yet. But one of the main problems I have seen with it is that if youre on the point you are so well covered that you can't even really see/hit anyone. The rocks could be a bit shorter, and I think you should remove these 3 walls (concrete/fence/wood) on the edge of the platform that block the entrance altogether:
As it is currently those walls really block movement at a crucial choke on the map, and I don't think the area is big enough to have to worry much about a crazy sightline. It should help people get in/out of the area and most importantly allow people to shoot other people!
The other big problem was that 2nd was pretty much never contested after a team lost mid, probably due to how close 2nd is to mid combined with how far last is from 2nd. If youre going to work on addressing either I would say try to shorten the distance from last to 2nd a little.
hookyDoes anyone know where I can try a 120Hz monitor? I don't want to spend $500 for one and have my eyes not notice any difference between 60 and 120 Hz.
An idea: some sort of LAN/conventions where companies are trying to show off their products and some people are bound to be bringing their own 120hz monitors.
They kindly waited 40 minutes for us, but the thread still probably shouldnt be censored.
First of all, I am so confused by this thread whether it is a problem with your eyes or the monitor. Anyways, I bought the new BenQ right when it came out and I had been experiencing blurring on the screen as well. I would see after-images on models that were moving fast or if I was orbiting around any object like an ammo pack. I was really considering returning it (they have a 3 year warranty) because no one I asked could figure out what it was. After months of calling 120hz shit it turned out that being on Windows XP was my problem and once I upgraded to Windows 7 it was the smoothest thing in the world. I doubt you're on XP though, but maybe it is an OS problem somehow.
I agree that this map has potential and It would probably only take a little bit of tweaking and simplification of a handful of areas to make this an enjoyable map. I would love to know if the map maker is currently interested in making it a competitively-focused map. Also until the last point gets some work (spawn positioning mostly) it is kind of unplayable.
While ggglygy, clockwork and bloodsire are all much better than you, they are just as wrong as you about soldier balance.
Tyrone, that post was not relevant, you are disqualified.
