#6 ESEA Allowing medigun pickups? in TF2 General Discussion

Problem is it has been declining for a long time now. People have always had a problem with ESEA and would've rather participated in another league. However, the only thing that enabled ESEA stick around for as long as they did was their ability to provide a LAN every season. The league itself has always been terrible. I don't see what match making will do to make ESEA turn into a better league but now that LAN is gone it is most likely never to return with them. In my opinion, now is the time to make the break for the better and start from the ground up. We could possibly organize our own LANS and the league itself will be ran much better by our community. The differences at this time are minimal and it couldn't possibly be any worse. When CEVO made its run the big dilemma was giving up LAN. It's no longer an issue. The ESEA client has always been bugged and horrid, servers have always been shotty, the admins tried their best with what they had to offer but could only do so much, and the scheduling/organizing of games has always been pretty cut throat and unfair. Or just plain stupid. I truly think now is the time to break off and do our own thing. At this point the reality is that we have literally NOTHING to lose. Just my opinion.

#4 ESEA Allowing medigun pickups? in TF2 General Discussion

I really think what we need isn't a rule change or a new tf2center.. We need a new league. From what i've seen even though i've been extremely inactive is that ESEA has completely fell off and isn't tolerable anymore. Its last saving grace over CEVO was the LAN and now that its been removed it literally has nothing anymore making it irreplaceable. I truly hope something is in the works to take over. Now would've been the ideal time for CEVO to make a run for the communities mainstay. Timing really is everything, I guess.

As far as the medigun pickup I think we should let the bugs get worked out and adjusted until it's a welcomed addition to comp, if ever. It is too new to implement something that will drastically change gameplay. Teams playstyles will become even more passive and protective over the medic than it already is which would make the game really unenjoyable, and slow from a spectators perspective.

#14 What are the upcoming lan dates? in TF2 General Discussion

I'm imagining TF2 with more customization. More wearable clothing. Way more customizable weapons. I believe TF2 is pretty out dated at this point. Valve can take what they started in TF2 and now fine tune it. They just keep releasing new updates for items to continue raking in cash, which is fine and intelligent by them. I still think though that a new updated version of TF would bring in way more money. I'd bet money that they will make it happen the question is just when?

GetawhaleblinKThey definitely made a lot of money on this game so I doubt they'd just push it off to the side.
I hate to sound cynical, but if you had a bank account that just sat there and collected tons of money with little or no effort by you.. would you be in a rush to replace it?

Nope. I'd leave it going. Which they'll do with TF2 just as they did all of cs's earlier games. There's always a select group of people who don't move on. Hell, some people still play TFC. But look at how fast cs:go took off in terms of items. I'm imagining the next go of TF they will make it way more customizable than it already is. Basically why have one bank account when you can have two? Makes sense to me. Easier to market the new game too and attract more players. Pretty sure it's going to happen, just a matter of when.

#8 What are the upcoming lan dates? in TF2 General Discussion

I think a port at this point is a waste. They should be bringing out an entirely new sequel on their new engine. The game is pretty old now at this point. They definitely made a lot of money on this game so I doubt they'd just push it off to the side. I like to imagine TF3 being put out similar to the way they did CS:GO.

Wow that really, really sucks. No more ESEA lans. Bad sign. Hopefully another league can rise up now and take the place of ESEA. If this happened back when CEVO made its run it would've been much better timing. Really hated giving ESEA my money all those years anyways. The playoffs are so much more exciting in person. This community is tough though we'll come up with something. I'm sure it's already in the works actually. Thanks for the info guys.

#1 What are the upcoming lan dates? in TF2 General Discussion

Hello everyone, been away a while. Just curious as to when the insomnia and ESEA lans are taking place? (I wanna try to watch the vods when I have free time) Also why did froyo have to replace lansky? Is there any more aussie super teams being formed or any other teams from a new country (heard asia was picking up steam competitively)? Thanks to whomever answers.

Hope everyone has been good!

You need second to be a farther walk to get too, so teams cannot lose mid and automatically lose 2nd as well. Perhaps make middle point high ground and the yard going into second point a downwards hill structure with housing of some sort leading to the yard. Similar to the housing between metalworks second and last point. This will make second more defendable and also make it easier to hide for big plays more often. The map doesn't need slight changes it needs restructuring imo.

No mention of video games but... Dospac, Arc, and Phaser are all married and setup with their careers.. Also just had new children in the past couple of years. (Greatest adventure of all? Raising new gamers). To me that's winning! All grown up and livin' the dream :) Congratulations boys. I'll be there soon enough!

smile has been around forever. he was in the original 90lg i think s8-IM? he sticks around in open but he has been invite level for a while. no surprise to me he has always been really good dm wise his comms used to be weak though. i'd assume though that as he get older his comms got better too. always been a nice kid that just likes to play with friends.

S16 IM too on my team Quantic Flux. He subbed for tic a few times as pocket and raped.

#25 Exposing a 19K hour cheater/hacker -- Seven in TF2 General Discussion

Played with/against this guy plenty of times in lobbies and he was always a really obvious cheater. He's a nice kid though, and doesn't play competitively so he doesn't get any major publicity.

#16 Hey Everyone in TF2 General Discussion

OverWatch does look pretty awesome. Hopefully the mechanics don't suck and they support good competitive formats. It doesn't bother me that it's eerily similar to TF at all. Hopefully this'll speed up the delivery of TF3 because you know valve is going to be looking to one up it.

#38 my dad thinks im a fuckup in Off Topic

no offense either.. i could guess a lot of people on this forum around your age used to splurge into computer graphics at some point or another. i know i did. we were all teenagers once, and we all had dreams.. then we got older and realized some things just aren't realistic. i bet people wanted to be sports stars, the president, make video games, (make real money off playing video games, lol), etc. you realize though 99.9% of the time it doesn't work, your parents know that but you don't yet. you have to have a more secure plan for your future. you can continue your animation no matter what you decide to do with your life. you can't really expect your parents to allow an 18 year old live at home for free, not work, and play video games 10+ hours a day. any parent who lets their child do that is not being a responsible parent. no matter which way you try to manipulate this, you're going to have to spend the next 40 years of your life working around 10 hours a day 5 days a week. at the least. might as well find something that pays well, is secure, and that you enjoy. whatever that might be. then add animation on the side. eventually you'll get some steady vagina and then all of this will be a good laugh 20 years down the road.

sorry,
welcome to the real world.. life.

p.s. don't listen to the people telling you to move out. stay at home until you can really afford to provide for yourself. just don't take the time for granted because not everyone has that opportunity even though you think it's something everyone has. be grateful you have parents who give a shit and provide for you while you figure out what it is you're going to do with your life.
