jnkiaieraand yet we milk the same phrases/current memes for months until they die out only to repeat the cycle with the current thing
this is more about niche jargon/memes serving as a sort of an unspoken handshake of shared experience. no one thinks saying "jugged" or whatever for the 5000th time is funny like a joke is funny, it just serves as a signifier of shared participation in a community, which builds trust and makes the atmosphere friendlier for all participants. the obvious last step is that people are more likely to laugh over less funny or even unfunny things in a friendly environment with people they trust.
