If people find this useful, maybe a spreadsheet would be better for looking up people by college as opposed to scrolling through all the posts?
If anyone wanted to take the time to make it, or better yet if OP added a Google Form for "alias," "college," "steam url" and a link to the results with sortable columns.
*let's organize an exciting event to build hype for the competitive community, but schedule it for almost immediately after it was announced so that most of the big YouTubers involved don't have time to announce it on their channels and build hype for the event*
Maybe change the logistics a little if you guys do another one?
Might go watch the VOD; sounds like it was a really fun idea. Thanks to everyone who put this on, and the players for taking the time to participate.
+1 for just doing a project. Unless you have absurd will power and auto didactic abilities, you will motivate yourself to learn far, far more by simply trying to go do something.
I learned the basics of programming by solving the first 10 Project Euler problems in Java.
If that's a bit dry, consider programming a simple single player game in Processing.
You're goal with a project like this is to learn to think with loops, variables, and possibly recursion. This will give you a very basic (if patchy, simply because of its informal nature) understanding of programming.
Feel free to add me on Steam if you have any questions about getting started.
dollarlayerWould also be nice to have a /s (save) and /t (teleport) like they do on jump maps. Maybe there is a way to simply implement the plugin that is run on jump servers that allows those commands.
Can't remember who came up with this style of teleport script; sorry for no credit :<
F1, F2, and F3 are teleport keys. ALT+F1/F2/F3 to save your location. You can add more locations with some copypaste.
// Teleporting
//--------
con_timestamp 0
con_logfile console.log
//Binds
bind F1 gotoPosition1
bind F2 gotoPosition2
bind F3 gotoPosition3
bind ALT +savePosition
bind f lastPos
//Code
alias +savePosition "bind F1 savePosition1; bind F2 savePosition2; bind F3 savePosition3"
alias -savePosition "bind F1 gotoPosition1; bind F2 gotoPosition2; bind F3 gotoPosition3"
alias resetLogfile "con_logfile console.log"
alias savePosition1 "con_logfile cfg/position1; getpos; resetLogfile;"
alias savePosition2 "con_logfile cfg/position2; getpos; resetLogfile;"
alias savePosition3 "con_logfile cfg/position3; getpos; resetLogfile;"
alias gotoPosition1 "exec position1.log; impulse 101; alias lastPos gotoPosition1"
alias gotoPosition2 "exec position2.log; impulse 101; alias lastPos gotoPosition2"
alias gotoPosition3 "exec position3.log; impulse 101; alias lastPos gotoPosition3"
alias lastPos gotoPosition1

Also WOW HAPPS THESE MAPS ARE INCREDIBLE!!!
Thank you so much for the time you put into making them!
amazingly nice of him! thanks :D
kounterpants is an awesome pickup for an open team~ fun to hang out with and great sense of how this video game should be played
will send cute pictures via snapchat ;)
People are often stating that the current competitive lineup is the best possible team composition simply because it's what we play with now, and that because of this the higher levels of matchmaking will naturally move towards it regardless of class restrictions.
Before I ask my questions, I would like to say why I think this isn't true: why do we have class restrictions? And what about the weapon bans we have?
Picture this: GRU heavy gets whips to mid, where he is healed by both quickfix and uber medics. Does this not seem like a very powerful strategy that would be extremely viable if currently allowed? Other OP possibilities include multiple demos (i <3 stalemates) and a team full of minisentries (oh god plz no).
If we acknowledge that some classes (often in conjugation with some weapons don't need balancing, e.g. disciplinary action, reserve shooter IMO, GRU) will be OP, does people still think that MM will, at a high level, include similar meta to our competitive scene? Do we need some class restriction to make it less absurd? Or will these new strats be a refreshing change to the meta? (Dota can deal with it; why is the whole TF2 community always so upset >.<)
Hello gamers!
Have you ever navigated to the ESEA site and thought, “Wow, this is a beautifully designed website that provides powerful functionality to view a variety of interesting statistics about competitive TF2!”
No?
Well, neither have we.
In anticipation of LAN starting tomorrow, here are some stats about ESEA-Invite S18!
http://stats.teamfortress.tf
Have you ever wondered which team comes first in the alphabet? (froyotech, because as we all know, froyotech always comes first)
Have you ever wondered who has the most frags per minute? (surprise, surprise: clockwerk)
Have you ever wondered if Harbleu has the most drops this season deaths this season? (yes. Yes he does)
Go take a look at tables of teams, players, and matches, as well as individual pages for each team and player.
Unfortunately, because we pull all of our stats from ESEA, and they don’t track class played in game, that’s not yet part of the site. But like many other things, it’s in the works ;)
Also, we are aware that the links to the matches on ESEA are currently not functioning... It appears they have dynamic URLs. We are currently working on a fix for this.
If you have any questions, comments, ideas, or bugs to report, feel free to post them here!
- klyph0rd and Zhouball
P.S. Please for the love of god do not voluntarily go to the site on mobile; we haven’t written pretty much anything with mobile compatibility in mind… Yet.
In a very similar vein: a whole website of Invite stats!

Improved a lot: yes.
Glad we did it: yes.
ESEA has been pretty good in terms of the system. Our matches last week and from now onward are all looking to be close, which makes this videogame a ton more fun.
Only problem: never schedule and lead. Don't do it. You will lose all sanity. If everyone refuses to do either, you should honestly just put down your foot and force the issue; initial conflict over this would be much better than the headache you'll have all season.
Looking for subs on all classes.
We are a very serious low open team. Scrim 2 - 3 times a night, 4 - 5 nights a week.
We also love having fun together--playing other video games outside of comp tf2, and hanging out together in mumble c:
Rude/toxic personalities look elsewhere. Determination and dedication are fine, but we don't tolerate anyone getting mad, especially at teammates.
EDIT:
Roster for people to lazy to click the team page link:
Demo: KootyKat
Medic: klyph0rd (me)
Pocket: Squidamatron
Roamer: Snivy
