gemmYou say experts will give you a more accurate diagnosis but all they'll really do to diagnose you with autism or a SLD is ask you about a few common symptoms and pump you through some questionairres. You could do reasonably well by googling the common tests (though some require two people)
That said a specialist may be able to give you more accurate advice about what to do about your disability, but in my experience they just give you some websites to read
Is it really that shitty? For an ADHD diagnosis I took like a 3 hour neuro-psych eval with all kinds of tests for memory response time etc.
