This issue started happening for me last night.
I normally ping 40-50 on dallas servers, and suddenly my ping is 90-100.
On susurfit I was getting 130 (normally 50) but I reset my modem and now it's down to ~80, which is better but still much higher than normal.
On reddit mge atlanta, I ussually get 25-35 and now the lowest it will go is 70.
I assume it's some sort of routing issue of course. Why my routing would change literally overnight is beyond me. I recall hearing some people say that their routing often changes randomly to NFO servers.
This has happened once or twice in the past and the problem eventually fixed itself. It sucks having to patiently wait but I have no idea what to do other than call my ISP.
edit: I -KNOW- that this high ping is not being caused by someone else on my network watching netflix or using the internet. I'm wired directly into my router, no one else is even in my house, and my ping is fine and normal on most servers, it is only certain servers that this occurs with.
Testify is awesome. Super nice guy, funny, and a great tf2 player. Any team would be lucky to have him join.
manaAbramelinHA that's what they keep saying about Fox. Liars.CranCARRY
welcome to my world, natf2, tf2.tv, gotfrag...it's never going to change. People think they know my entire life story from posts by people who I never have even played with or even heard of. This community, much like every gaming community, will continue to do shit like this cause they find it entertaining.
that's why you pretend to be a bird on the internet so no one actually knows anything about you
I can't really understand this difference of personality on forums vs. IRL. Why? What's the point?
I think forums vs mumble is more accurate.
Forums are your bonafide internet blanket where people can hide behind and say what they want with little to no consequence. Mumble is the closest thing we have to IRL and people usually aren't so quick to be a tough guy.
I meant to post that in a completely different thread. I'm an idiot.
I'm an idiot. I posted a reply to you, but somehow I posted it in the wrong thread. Here's what I said:
crespiYou say that it sounds horrible, but ironically, I think that somehow you enabled "high quality" audio. High quality audio has a lot of reverb and echo and I agree that it is horrible. In tf2, go to options - audio, and if you have quality audio enabled, changed it to low and see if that fixes it.
I'm pretty sure it's the high quality audio. Change it to low quality and you won't have that echo anymore.

Hey whayay
I'm using the blank version; I tried to enable the targetID health cross by changing targetID-healthcross.res to targetID.res and there is no health cross on the TargetID's. What do?
Why are people minus fragging broesel?
edit: all those minus frags left broesel and got put on me, and I'm okay with that.
Your question is too broad.
It all depends on the situation.
First of all, what class are you playing? A demoman is going to have a very different objective than a scout for example.
Second, do you have uber advantage or not?
Is their medic close to getting uber?
What off classes are the defenders running?
That's just a few things that have to be considered before this question can even begin to be answered.
Edit, I got fucking ninja'd by three people. gg

Once you disable your steam cloud (assuming you 100% disabled it, there's two things you have to do) your settings could still remain in your config.cfg if it's read only or for other reasons. But once steam cloud is 100% off, there should be no way anything can overwrite your config. I don't think it's physically possible.
Mangachuhttp://teamfortress.tv/forum/thread/8567-changing-my-crosshair
same thing here, have to manually edit/delete your config.cfg/if its read only disable that
or just disable your steam cloud sync and be done with it for good.
Just to clarify, there are two actions required to disable steam cloud sync.
First, launch tf2.
Go to options
>multiplayer
>advanced
>scroll down to the bottom, and near the bottom you will see "enable steam cloud sync"
>uncheck this option
>click apply/ok.
Second, go to your steam library
>right click team fortress 2
>click properties
>click the "updates" tab
> uncheck enable steam cloud synchronization for Team Fortress 2
I think this hud is really nice. Aesthetically, it's amazing, maybe too beautiful. I like it and everything, the fonts are great and easy to read, but there is just too much stuff going on around the scoreboard, and a little too much going on around the target id's. But it truly is a nice hud.
