FreeSync/G-Sync doesn't do anything if you get more fps than your refresh rate.
Lightboost might actually make things look worse if you get less fps than your refresh rate.
So it's fairly clear cut. If you're going for 288fps no matter how low you need to put the settings then Lightboost, if you want everything to look pretty but don't want your eyes to bleed because 130fps on a 144Hz monitor look terrible then FreeSync/G-Sync.

24" 1080p with either LB or Sync should be about 300$ (about half) cheaper.
There actually is a cheap 27" 1080p FreeSync monitor, but it's not that good.

well the build you gave me will definitely reach 288 fps so it would just make sense to get a 24" 1080p lightboost monitor correct? if so can you show me one?

also going back to your previous post

Setsul The 6700K would also be possible but I don't think you'll need it.

would it be worth getting a 6700k if i can afford it? because the extra $100 isnt that big of a deal for me.

edit: also your thoughts on this case. is it fine?

I obviously don't know the Cyber Monday deals yet, so this is just a rough sketch.

27" 1080p 144Hz FreeSync is a rare combination. Older 144Hz monitors don't have FreeSync, never 27" monitors are most likely 1440p.
Would 24" 1080p be fine or does it have to be 27"? It would most likely end up being 1440p and more expensive.

You are aware that you can't use Lightboost and FreeSync at the same time?

27" G-Sync monitors are more expensive than they have any right to be and from the top of my head I can only think of one 27" FreeSync monitor (XL2730(Z)) that can do Strobing, but it's not exactly cheap either.

Anyway, here's 2 options:
The "more reasonable" FreeSync option (also better strobing) http://pcpartpicker.com/list/Y8qbCy
and the G-Sync option pcpartpicker.com/list/LZCrYr
Yes, I know there are slightly cheaper monitors, but they are not that good and "not that good" doesn't cut it at 600$.
The PG279Q is not much more expensive, so if you want IPS that's an option too.
1080 would also be within budget.

For both you could/should probably get a better case but I don't know what you like so the N200 is a good enough placeholder that would work just fine.
The 6700K would also be possible but I don't think you'll need it.

I assumed you'd be overclocking, since I have no idea what else to do with all that budget.

what would you recommend over one another; freesync/g-sync or lightboost? or is it all just personal preference? also what would be the price difference between 1080 and 1440? i would be okay with a 24". im going to take your word on monitors just because i dont know a ton about them, all i know is that i want 144 hz

#2 Reero LFT in Recruitment (looking for team)

reero really is dedicated on improving. he has really good dm and has pretty decent calls. something that still needs to work on that ive seen a lot of improvement on this season is his positioning. if he continues to work on it hell do well on a high open/low im team.

also outside of the game he is a really nice funny gamer.

That's still a long way off. There's not much point in doing a partlist 2 months in advance, especially if you're trying to take advantage of deals that I can't know about yet. I'd have to change most of the partlist again.

Post here again a week or so before Cyber Monday at earliest, then I should be able to do a much better job than I would be to now.

And fuck the VG248QE, I have so many rants on that topic.

playmo is a super nice guy and a really good pocket. kezia and pigby both pound on scout while taking low heals and feathers is improving very quick and is determined to keep improving. this is a really fun level headed group of people. i think the one thing they need is an experienced caller on demo or just in general. i predict them in playoffs next season.

#2 pyxelize lft open s24 in Recruitment (looking for team)

i used to play with carter a year ago. he has really good dm and seems to have improved his attitude a bit since then so if he continues this trend and works on his game sense and what not he could play on a bubble team. i think he is more of a roamer than a pocket but he can play either decently.

all of this is right but yung americans also have meus on scout and stock puts up a lot of damage on demo. the thing yumpman have going for them are their scouts rolling everything in sight and brian doing well on pocket. other than that, the rest of that team is lacking and gets outclassed in every aspect.

i also think the eels game is going to be really close considering eels decided to pull a westbrook effect and not really scrim at all towards the end of the season/before playoffs (at least not nearly as much as UGC 6s does)

if i have time after work i might make a playoffs preview article but they have me working 11 hour days :(
