I've played with Screwb in Europe for the past two months and found him to be a skilled player and a nice person. Has conviction and is not afraid to rock the boat, but in retrospect he's allways been right. Almost as excentric as I am. Best of luck Screwbie!

dingo1. Remove HUD files from tf/custom.i definitely did all of this
2. ellshud1080ch contains a crosshair whereas ellshud1080 does not.
Copy one of them to tf/custom/.
3. Copy tf english.txt to tf/resource.
4. Put tf_hud_show_servertimelimit 1 in your config.
5. Select English as your language.
Add me and we'll try to sort it out. If anyone else has trouble, let me know.
dingotyscit does this in minmode and not in minmode and i put the tf_english.txt in and it still does thisomnidingothe ubercharge numbers dont workYou might have to be in minmode, maybe

yeah, read through the files
tf_english.txt must be replaced
Me, my testers and Gunblade and Timo in this thread have all managed. I seems like you did something wrong. Did you follow these exact steps in the attached PDF?
***Setup***
Paths are relative to Steam/SteamApps/common/Team Fortress 2/.
1. Remove HUD files from tf/custom.
2. ellshud1080ch contains a crosshair whereas ellshud1080 does not.
Copy one of them to tf/custom/.
3. Copy tf english.txt to tf/resource.
4. Put tf_hud_show_servertimelimit 1 in your config.
5. Select English as your language.
The game isn't using the new tf_english, which causes the text glitches. I can see two likely reasons. You either copied tf_english.txt to custom/ellshud1080/resource instead of tf/resource or you didn't change language to English, in which case the game uses tf_hungarian, tf_french or whatever.
The fonts don't load properly either, that is a fallback font. My guess is that you changed the file structure in some way. Make sure you copy the entire folder. The path should look like tf/custom/ellshud1080. Look at the difference between your picture and the one Gunblade posted.

That is a concious design choice, but you can change it like Gunblade demonstrated. The HUD has 3 font sizes, 48pt, 24pt and 12pt. Reloadable weapons use 48pt for loaded ammo and 24pt for reserve. Nonreloadable ones use 24pt. You don't have to keep track of nonreloadable weapon ammo in the same way, so I made the text smaller for greater visibility.

They are supported, just default. I should probably edit that. I have updated the scoreboard, death notices and tf_english to work with killstreaks.

flatlinethose fonts also look like the default ones. dingo, install the fonts inside /resource (or /resource/fonts depending on how he set it up) and ell, doublecheck the font definitions
@tysc: ell probably didn't change the font value for ammonoclip (which is for weps that don't have two clips (i.e. sniper rifle, flamethrower, minigun, etc). unintended feature.
I've checked the font definitions, everything is in order. The fonts should be located in the ellshud1080 folder, right where they are. Gunblade and Timo obviously got it right.
Stochast1cOutside of changing the text (and making it smaller?) what else was changed?
I made so many small changes that I lost track somewhere halfway through. Except for fixing all the things Valve wrecked recently I made the following changes.
Changes (from the top of my head, there may be more):
* New font - Source Sans Pro.
* Scoreboard now has golde ratio dimensions like the chat window. Ping column removed.
* Changed standard spacing from 4 to 6 units.
* Decreased spy and demo meter thickness from 8 to 6 units.
* Moved down death notices to not instersect with round timers and changed the shape of their edges from rounded to sharp. Increased death notice limit from 5 to 8.
* Updated manual.
* Updated tf_english.
* Made team background in Scoreboard overlap with lower screen border to avoid a glitch on some resolutions.
* Changed internal names of fonts and colors.
* Rewrote hudlayout.res and Clientscheme.res from scratch in case of added entities.
* Fixed (hid) Health status icons such as bleed, marked for death and milk images. I don't have the time to deal with this right now, leaving it for another release.
* Fixed Vaccinator uber bars not showing properly.

That is not the right font, you must have done something wrong.
dingothe ubercharge numbers dont work
Follow the setup instructions in the atteched PDF. You need to put tf_english.txt in tf/resource. It removes a lot of the verbose text. It will also be overwritten on every update, so you have to do this every once in a while. I'd put it together with the rest of the files, but Valve won't allow it.
Version 4.6
***DISCLAIMER***
This HUD currently only supports 1920x1080, since the scoreboard and crosshair will be misaligned for other resolutions. With that being said, it will probably perform acceptably without the crosshair on most resolutions. I hope to do something about this when I get more time on my hands.
Same but different: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Otsruh9xt9E
The general consensus is that linear switches are best for gaming and tactile switches for typing. I wouldn't play with tactile switches and I actually prefer typing with linear ones. Brown (tactile) switches seems like a bad compromise for gaming, only really useful for things like writing novels or working in it-support. My old Commodore came with linear switches, maybe that's how I came to like them. Programming and most other computer related tasks are 3/4 thinking and 1/4 typing. Black (linear) switches are by no means to heavy, as some people fear. Get a tenkeyless keyboard too if you can manage, it allows you to place your keyboard and mousepad in a much more ergonomic way. The Filco (Diatec) Majestouch 2 is a nice keyboard, sturdy with no excessive features.
Edit: Choose buckling spring switches if you want them to last until you wear through your keycaps.
It should be possible to make very elaborate health meters using ligatures where every real number is associated with a separate glyph, but I never really saw the point. I think it's better to get used to the standard way of representing numbers, for whatever games we might play in the future.
trogsuper guide to extracting hud stuff
1. Download GCFScape. Even if you had it before, you need the updated version to open vpk's.
2. Through GCFScape open up C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\tf2_misc_dir.vpk
3. Right click whatever you want > Extract
No need for GCFScape after the Steam Pipe update. Just drag steam\SteamApps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\tf2_misc_dir.vpk onto steam\SteamApps\common\Team Fortress 2\bin\vpk.exe.
SBARROHOTTOPICEll, I fixed it, haha. That's what I was saying in #9, sorry if I wasn't clear.
Sweet. This is what it looks like btw:
http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/5854/ellshudhandelgothicbt.png
The spacing of HandelGothic BT is a bit different so you might want to move the clip and reserve ammo one unit to left and right respectively. All the other texts should fall into place by themselves.
Try this file and put HANDGOTN.TTF in custom/ellshud/resource.
SBARROHOTTOPICI did replace everything, yes.
Where have you put the replacement font? Have you packed your files in vpk format? What is the name of the new font?
