#976 mastercomfig - fps/customization config in Customization
whitepuzzle2500k@4.85
maxperformance.cfg
benchmark1.dem 2639 frames 15.012 seconds 175.79 fps ( 5.69 ms/f) 10.729 fps variability (145fps minimum)
however 12v12 pub on large maps like upward sees fps as low as 90s during intense action
guess there's just no way to keep tf2 at stable 144fps, if mastercom maxperf can't do it, nothing can
maybe I shall cave in and try a binned 5.3ghz 8600k from siliconlottery.com. hehe... seems like a lot of money to spend on getting this rickety old game to run well, though...

What's your GPU? Also, what is your average fps in 6s during mid battles? I have the same CPU @ 4.4GHz and I pretty much never drop below 200fps.

gemm^m_limitedcapture_workaround 1 still causes issues with me so probably shouldnt be default

m_limitedcapture_workaround "1" is the default setting though. However, if you hadn't experienced any issues prior it was added I'd say it's safe to disable it.

mastercomsfagoatseSo, I take it that
//net_splitrate 4 // Split 4 packets per frame, reduces choke but is more CPU intensive

is safe to use when you have ample CPU cycles to burn?
Yeah and I would recommend using the queued packet thread.

Yeah, I've been doing that on windows ever since I discovered that it caused hit reg delays if disabled.

#5 Windows 10 update messing my aim? in TF2 General Discussion

Generally, all builds after 1607 messed up a few things including mouse handling. Supposedly m$ fixed it recently but people still report issues so perhaps it hasn't been fixed entirely. Build 1607 will be supported until March 2018(or 2026 for LTSB) so you can hold on updating until then.

YohnfagoatseNot a fan of dadrock but I guess RIP. Perhaps AC/DC will finally get a guitarist that won't be wanking around 3 chords for 40 years."but i guess RIP"? What the fuck is wrong with you, have some decency

Yeah that phrasing was was awful. I feel bad about it now.

MalkrazmastercomsTry -nouserclip
Seems to have made a minor improvement but I'm still dipping pretty hard in the problem areas. It's more like 95-110 now instead of 80-90 down from 280+ on spawn.

There's something fundamentally wrong with your setup. Your CPU and GPU are excellent and such dips should never occur. I'd start by taking a look into UEFI to check if there isn't some kind of CPU throttling turned on. Also check the frequency of your ram and make sure they run in dual channel. Afterwards, I'd take a look into the GPU drivers. Get nvidiainspector and modify the tf2 profile as follows:

Power management mode - prefer maximum performance
Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration - Single display performance mode

Malkrazr_shader_srgb -1/1 seem to just make the game extremely dark. By opening the steam overlay I can easily see that the .icc profile has been overridden. Don't quote me on this but I'm guessing that these may refer more to Nvidia color management rather than desktop.

I've added -nogammaramp but I haven't used any .icc profiles nor the switch for nearly 2 years so perhaps it was removed in the meantime. It used to work for majority of source based games though. I've tested dota2, csgo, dear esther, black mesa, portal 1+2, tf2, insurgency and so on.

I'm afraid the only way to force an .icc profile would be to use some sort of an injector but that might trigger VAC so be careful.

yahoowhy do you recommend removing "-dxlevel x" from launch options after first launch? whats wrong with always having it there?

it makes the game launch slower

VantavimeowfagoatseVantavimeowsnd_mixahead 0.04 seems reasonably attainable, 10ms less audio delay is nothing to be sniffed at
This is purely dependent on your audio stack and hardware. If you get no crackling and similar glitches give it a shot.

Are you suggesting there are things I can do that would enable me to lower it further?

Yeah, a good starting point is to measure DPC latency to make sure it's not abnormally high. However, if you haven't noticed any issues such as audio crackling or mouse input misbehaving you probably don't have anything to worry about.

#19 pretty boy pocket pistol in TF2 General Discussion
ReflectoTFIt seems like there would never be a situation where you would run stock pistol again. Winger might still be a better option for Granary and Metalworks but not by much. It honestly just seems like a straight upgrade from stock and makes scout better. IMO it should be banned.
