So, for the last two days my hard drive cooling fan has been perpetually making weird noises and i have had to turn on my computer, then turn it off and then turn it back on for me to get to the windows login page. So, is a hard drive cooling fan necessary would be my first question and is the fact that i need to restart to get to the login page connected to the fact that my hard drive cooling fan is acting up. Also, on my second startup so that i could get to the login page, my computer starting running 'checking disk for consistency', not sure exactly what this means even when having done some research. Also, is this consistency check connected to my hard drive cooling fan acting up.
so my hard disk is at 26 degrees so the cooling fan is probably still working.
