Changed GPU to 360
Yea, I know PSU and MB are really shit, but he wanted to save money anywhere possible, returning to original MSI B85M-P33 V3 - Intel B85 and Seasonic S12II-430 430W
Now we're about 1 500 CZK (55 €) over budged but whatever :)

My friend asked my for help with his new PC, budget about 450 € (will be buying from Czech dealer, so prices are a bit higher)
Playing TF2, CS:GO, OW, some school stuff
CPU: Intel Core i3-4170
GPU: MSI R7 250 2GD3 OC
MB: ASUS H81M-K - Intel H81
PSU: Chieftec iARENA GPA-400B8 400W
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury Blue 8GB DDR3 1600
Storage: WD Caviar Blue EX - 1TB
Case: Evolveo R05

This is about 380 €, I'm concidering should he get better GPU (ASUS R7 360-OC-2GD5 ?) or SSD?

the problem is that not everyone can afford good pc, you can't just say "Maybe you should stop playing on a toaster.", some people spend all money on studies and/or on food, flat and clothes or are 10-15 yrs old and parrents aren't willing to buy them new pc.

and now my actual thoughts (like somebody cares): it'll hurt many people but it allows some stuff to be inplemented (outlines, more skins( = more money for valve = more money for tf2)) and nobody forces you to play mm whitch (hopefully) will be only gamemode/place you will forced to play with dx9, if they just remove option to switch to dx8 then they'll make many people angry, so hopefuly they won't do it. but generaly it's just bad, because with dx8 game feels different (better for someone) and people who spent 12k hrs playing on dx8 switching will be (hard maybe) annoying and uncornfotable and bad feeling customer is not a good thing
but i'm sure that somebody in this community will find way (if needed) how to launch tf2 in dx8 (there is a way how to play tf2 in dx7, dont know if it still works ) and (hopefully) ETF2L, ESEA and UGC wont force you to play on dx9 using server settings, you might be forced to on lans/events sponzored by valve tho

i am soooo gut, i can play pyro with kd 50:25 on valve pubs, i want to play against skilled players

fix for your problem with black stuff: mat_mipmaptextures 0
clean your custom folder and launch tf2 with -autoconfig and verify game cache

Hey, looking for GPU upgrade, NVIDIA GTX 960 and AMD R9 380 are in my budget, both for the same price (local dealer). Witch one should I take? Both performing about the same in game tests but NVIDIA offers some extra technologies. And is the 4 GB version worth of concidering?

Hey people of tf.tv, I came here with little problem, in my TF2 console keeps appearing:

It doesn't seem to cause any problems but it's annoying when your output dissapears in lines of red text.
When I launch game with -autoconfig and clear custom folder it doesn't appear.

well, it seems like 1. rays hud is colliding with other hud(s) in you custom folder, post here a screen of folder tree of your custom folder 2. some files are missing 3. you didnt instaled all the fonts (i dont think this is the problem) 4. combination of 1., 2. and 3.
