SmytherAlso, if you can, check your hard drive's SMART (don't ask me how to do that on windows).
in a command prompt, type the following two commands (enter after each):
wmic
diskdrive get status
if you don't know this is your hard-drive's self-monitoring thingy. you might need a different tool to diagnose it further if anything other than 'ok' pops up. but
i think memtest86's your best bet, it should come as an iso or something for you to create a bootable usb/dvd.
you could also refresh windows if that doesn't work (keeps your files intact, but im not sure exactly what it does with installed programs as to whether it leaves them installed or uninstalls them and leaves the files.
SideshowAs I've said before, a map being in beta means nothing beyond a name.
Gullywash, Snakewater, Granary_Pro, Process, and Via/Product were all included in the leagues' map pools before they got to their "final version". How do you expect beta maps to get proper testing and feedback if not including them in the season?
well yes, but it does signify the map's age and how well stress-tested it has been by top teams fully try-harding it. i agree that including it in the season would be the best way to test it and i guess it wouldn't be a complete disaster in the unlikely event that it had some glaring flaws however putting it early into the map pool could kill the community's willingness to play it (as happened with logjam). we can hope for another process/snake but it's honestly not likely
(pasta'd from the etf2l comments): not a fan of having beta maps in the pool tbh (logjam was included far too early, had issues when it was included and was changed several times after s20). plus, while most people have played it in mixes at least, not many top teams played it in the preseason cup and i doubt they scrim it
the301stspartan"...We will sponsor the insomnia58 tf2 tournament for a 500000$ prize pool."
500k prize pool is not an easy thing to do for a competitive community as small as tf2's. though I agree a compendium would be the best way they could show support if they don't want to dump that kind of investment into tf2 comp
SideshowAlso it's odd that they only seem to have 1 person involved in feedback. One would expect Valve to require a range of opinions, but tbh who knows what relationship banny and valve even have. It's a mystery. As usual.
this disappoints me too. it would make sense to invite more people to valve if they were after input (like the visit a year or two ago that b4nny managed to get himself on)
what are your net settings (interp, interp ratio, rate)? does it happen if you run under -default (or -autoconfig with your cfg backed up)?
Welcome to the teamfortress.tv community friend!
i find solace in the fact that everyone else gets a heart attack when its our mother's day in march
literally get to the end of the day by getting mad at video games until i can sleep it off
rip showstopper @ i58?
rip amount of open teams
panda106What config are you using?
Try removing your config and launching the game with "-default" launch option then putting it back
-default doesn't change any settings, it only ignores them and sets them to default for that launch. -autoconfig is what they should have used (and even then it might need you to set the settings in the graphics panel, it seems weird on how it works)
