Want to just mention again that this is what everybody thought this past Friday, and it took us 20 minutes before we could even start our first mix because of a shortage of coaches. I'm not certain that we had a true admin at first either.

Great post otherwise, good to hear that rules and guidelines will be enforced to make it better for everyone. Hoping we all continue to come together EVERY week (or as much as we can) to nurture the growing competitive scene.

We are really having a blast watching this. It's 6v6 but they are not competitive players.. they are running all sorts of different classes and weapon loadouts.. and honestly everyone's just having an awesome time. It's really cool to just watch these players be at LAN and just go for it 6v6 with little to no rules.

Between Mixes, we have started playing on a pub server to pass the time/not making it a total silent bore.

I've sort of feared this happening.. people showing up late and not understanding what's going on, but as Kevin said above, I think there are a few easy ways around this.

I wonder if it may be good for coaches to check in with an admin when they show up - otherwise nobody really knows you're there. Wouldn't hurt to have a couple of them added.

When everyone says "Ahh, it'll be fine.. I'm sure they have coaches" then nobody shows up.

I very much enjoyed tonight's cast. You and Deer were perfectly entertaining, and I listened to the first few rounds Audio Only on the drive home - it sounded awesome!

I want to throw out my oddball suggestion about intros. I'm sick of at the start of casts, hearing everyone do the same "Hello my name is X, and this is Y. How are you today Y?" "Oh I'm great I'm excited for some great TF2!" As a viewer, that is not interesting to hear at all.

If you really insist on asking how the other caster is (they will always say good or great) at least add something extra to the end of it to make it more interesting. Something about the match importance, or the teams, or some storyline. Mix it up! It sounds very canned when you just say How's It Goin.

This is 100% cosmetic and does not affect a cast but is something I've wanted to express for a while. Not just EVL, but all orgs.

And no, I agree with you - the team you beat are the only ones who really have a claim to be upset. That's valid. Maybe it is a little overreaching to come out and try to speak on behalf of those players, but like we saw in this thread, there are at least a few people who felt weird about the match. Yeah, it's probably thrown out of proportion because of the previous posts, and I know people feeling "weird" doesn't matter much.

You have a good point about "fucking around" teams being ideally way easier to beat too. That was in the back of my head with this.

But I don't think the concern was with teams fucking around during a non-serious match.. but more fantasy TF2 (this thread topic) becoming more important to people than the game itself. Kinda like an exaggerated version of inflating your stats. Double sniper is obviously just fucking around, that's nothing, but going Vaccinator to get more ubers is obviously fantasy-related. So maybe that's just shade, but you can't say fantasy is not a part of it.
