#6 tf2 connection in Q/A Help
BLoodSireI don't think this is a connection issue, but rather a PC issue. Do you experience this stuttering outside of TF2 at all? Try opening the task manager and closing unwanted programs that may be hogging memory...might help if there is a particular culprit.

Also, Pi interp 4 life.

haha yeah all about that pi.

It isnt a tf2 issue, because on my old connection i didnt have this issue. And im playing right now (10pm) and it isnt lagging that much, but 5pm-9pm it stutters so much..

#4 tf2 connection in Q/A Help

ok, so now it is even worse. it is lagging out (but doesnt show the auto disconnect countdown), but just freezes. for example, on a server that works fine and i get 20 ping on, i rocket jump, half way or even after iv finished the jump, i freeze, then it repeats that same rocket jump, pretty much just repeating what exactly just happened...

#1 tf2 connection in Q/A Help

hey guys. I recently moved to cali, and i got settled in. Now i have good ping to servers, so i had to change all my connection settings.

I use bloodsires cl_interp rates
hitscan: cl_interp .033
Projectile: cl_interp .0152
Medic: same as Projectile
sniper: .0314159265359 (edited in the 0 before 3)

But i have some problems. I am using time warner (cabel internet) and for some reason i keep freezing in-game for sometimes up to 5 seconds. No one is really using the internet. what can i do to fix this.

My connection settings
cl_cmdrate 67
cl_interp .033
cl_interp_ratio 1
cl_lagcompensation 1
cl_pred_optimize 2
cl_smooth 0
cl_smoothtime 0.01
cl_updaterate 67
rate 60000
(comanglias good connection settings, they work fine, other than the fact that i keep freezing, prob not its fault though)

#4 what have i missed in a year of not playing in TF2 General Discussion

well i wouldn't say u missed to much, especially for this year. there have been only some shitty game modes added, that were only played for the first week. also the unsual/skinned weapons. basically the cs:go stuff was copy/pasted into tf2. then everybody put TF:GO after their steam name for a week. pretty much all that happened.

Hope all is well, and WELCOME BACK<3

#4 Screen Res in Customization
Change1. try using windowed mode, if you're not already. just guessing. if that doesn't work, then i doubt it's possible.

2. 1024x768 is the most popular 4:3 res, but the most pleasant looking one would probably be 1024x768 if you don't want to use your max res.

I dont like windowed mode idk why, but ill get used to it

hooliif you want 16:9 you can use 1024x576, you'll have to make a custom resolution in your nvidia control panel but it will work after that

My max screen res is 16:9 (about 0.001 off :p) and it is what im used to, but after one hour playtime of the 4:3 ratio, im getting used to it, and tracking a lot better. thanks for ur help tho m8 :3

#1 Screen Res in Customization

Hey guys.
My max screen res is 1366x768. I just started using a w 1024x768 (4:3).

1. Is there anyways to make the In-game Steam Overlay use the normal screen res, not this 4:3 one?

2. What is a 4:3 screen res that works for u guys. I chose this one because it is the largest 4:3 possible for me, should i try using a even smaller one or what. I think it makes the performance better, but I just want the most pleasant looking one.

#10 look at dis in Q/A Help
Fireidk whether you did this just for research, but if you actually want to get fps i wouldnt use that cfg, since its quite outdated. use comanglias instead

Yes fire, I do use and have been using comanglias toaster gfx for a while now. this just seems a bit shittier look than comanglia's. And i just wanted to try it out :3

yttriumregarding quotes in languages - most languages, including whatever the hell tf2 wants to call its scripts, just use quotes to group strings where spaces would normally terminate them. so for example, if you want to say the following in chat:
this is text
then you can't just use 'say this is text' as a command, because it'll just say 'this' in chat, since the spaces will separate. instead you'd put them in quotes to group them as one string: "say this is text" would type 'this is text' into chat. most languages would start the quotations at the beginning of the string, just before the word 'this', but tf2 is weird so it needs to group the command in with the same string.

this isn't necessary for numbers because they aren't ever separated with spaces, so for most cvars the quotes are useless, though people often use them anyway because it looks cleaner.

Alright man, I get it now. thanks :)

Sorry, I kept the code at the end, my question was that for some of the lines the numbers dont have quotations, arent all the numbers supposed to have quotations?

#1 look at dis in Q/A Help

https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=757441

look at the code.
there are some lines where it doesnt have quotes for the number of the comand set for instance:

cl_burninggibs "0"
lod_TransitionDist "0"
r_rootlod "2"
r_drawdetailprops "0"
r_waterforceexpensive "0"
r_waterforcereflectentities "0"
fov_desired "90"
mat_reducefillrate "1"
mat_debugdepthval 0
mat_debugdepthvalmax 0
mat_forcehardwaresync 0
mat_aaquality 0
mat_bloom_scalefactor_scalar 0
mat_fastnobump 0
mat_software_aa_blur_one_pixel_lines "0"
mat_software_aa_strength "0"
mat_software_aa_strength_vgui "0"

Some of em have code, some dont. is this supposed to be this way, cuz i dont think it should :s

thanks yo

rowrowI can't tell if froyo is the dick or nr is the dick. Who's blu team???

nerdrage is blu. clockwork (froyo) was the scout by the point shitting on nerdrage through leftside, while blaze kept pulling 2 players back everytime. ash was the scout on the red side rock.
