WHO'S FEELIN' IT?

$250 for 1 textbook and 2 mandatory manuals for just today and I'm only takin' the piss with an English major. Don't want to think about what if I picked up CS as a minor next semester depending on how I do.

ukmok can we just take a second and address the important part of this thread gr8stalin what the FUCK who puts tomatoes on a cheesesteak get the fuck out

There's this newly built food place across from my quad that does this bullshit. The place I usually go to on campus that does it right closed early for some reason but this place was open. I'm not gonna order a cheesesteak there again.

Norawhich is what? You are what you look like in the mirror? You're not as healthy as some other people? Your friend probably doesn't need a reality check.

Then again maybe you're one of those people who believes that any person can overcome any difficulty simply by changing their mode of thinking.

Let me put this into tumblr terms you can understand:

As a white "cis" working class heterosexual male with a more than reasonable level of intellect born into a jewish home raised by a single mother in a studio apartment I can tell you with 100 shekels worth of certainty that you are riding the hurt feelings train all the way to buttfrustration station.

Fat people are fat for a multitude of reasons. Just because you got people like Francis who are very funny and likable people but make these completely retarded sob stories about how there's a cycle of pain doesn't mean that these sob stores aren't completely delusional.

A monthly membership to the New York Sports Club costs $50 a month. The SYEP program for youth ranging from 14 to 24 years of age provides about $1000 for 6 weeks worth of work with a state-mandated max of 25 hours of work a week. If you don't want to pay for a gym membership, walking is free and you can spend money on your own sports bottle to fill with free motherfucking water. Most, if not all, insurance policies these days cover psychological evaluations and psychiatric medications to some extent (this goes into socioeconomic status once again but that's another story for another time). Going back to my original post, gastroenterologist visits are also covered under a multitude of insurance types where they give FREE advice and FREE referrals to licensed nutritionists. Places like Whole Foods and Trader Joes are springing up in places that need healthy organic food the most. I have a local farm that's a 30 minute drive away back home that provides fresh and organic fruits, vegetables, and snacks for very affordable prices. There are ads on local buses here that provide warnings against over-ingesting energy drinks like Vitaminwater and Gatorade that are filled with hidden sugars (the drinks are targeted towards athletic people for a reason).

Yes, people do need to be more accepting of the fact that there are fat people in this world and they're either looking for help to lose weight or they're comfortable with being fat (best and most well-known example: fetish and "plus size" models). Yes, I am in the minority that would rather fuck a fat chick over a tranny. Yes, I'm eating a philly cheesesteak with swiss right now and I picked out the two slices of tomato and just left the lettuce like a big gay baby. But no, fat people are perfectly capable of changing the way they eat and live. The resources are there and well within reach these days.

I apologize for spergin' out.

#5 Question in Map Discussion
2cidk what nmw is

Short version: my sort-of no-name open team made a PUG group around Season 8 called New Map Weekends designed around playing some custom maps with a 6s theme for fun and testing if any would be viable introductions to a rotation. Nothing really came of it because it was mostly mid/high open players playing and those who were above didn't give a shit about actual map testing and just wanted to frag bads on a 6s class that wasn't their main. NMW is not New Map PUGs or whatever it was.

#1 Question in Map Discussion

Towards the end of the QF drama, Scorpio made two posts about maps and new content in general that I agreed with on some points and disagreed on with others. It got me thinking about NMW, but I was disappointed by the one NMW PUG that was held. Maybe it just needed some different people, though.

I still have the group, my own mumble server, and a 14-slot server (so no highlander, sorry kids) that won't expire until the 3rd. I can't really give any incentives except some hats/craft metal for hats/a strange for people to come and play, so it would be a totally volunteer thing. Is there any interest in reviving New Map Weekends for either fun or actual serious testing (or maybe both)?

wafflebvery indie looking

I found part of her problem m8

In all seriousness "fat shaming" and anything tumblr/reddit spits out to add to the hurt feelings train that everyone seems to be riding blows EVERYTHING out of proportion. Like truktruk said,

obesity can stem from depression or high stress (among other things)

There are also genetic and some socioeconomic factors that are behind obesity as well - for instance, my family has trouble metabolizing carbohydrates and diabetes and high blood pressure run in my family. It's not always someone's choice to be obese, and there's a reason why it's being recognized as a disease by many. On the other hand, there's an entire sexual subculture dedicated to fat where people make the choice to be obese. There are also people who are just fat lazy greasy fucks who will ride de modorized gard into de walmard and buy 12 liters of diet coke and then stob by de wendys for 6 bagonadors :DDDDDD god bless ameriga :DDDDD who are fat as motherfuckers and that's no one else's fault but their own.

I can spout factoids that I've learned all I want, but the absolute best person to talk to about obesity would be a licensed medical specialist of some sort who can speak objectively and subjectively about people affected by obesity, not your local gym's nutritionist. A gastroenterologist or a nutritionist THROUGH a GE would be your best bet to getting someone you know who is obese some help.

#32 The survival of comedy in a post-gotfrag tf2 in Site Discussion
kirbyThe community has grown and matured a lot.

I have yet to see proof of this. In fact I've seen evidence that points to the contrary, mostly this extreme hypersensitivity towards name-calling.

#15 The survival of comedy in a post-gotfrag tf2 in Site Discussion

Then if the forum has grown since the gotfrag days, can we just get rid of blue/colored names except for administrators and TwitchTVJohn, then? Believe it or not, people gravitate towards anyone with a blue name and treat their word like gospel regardless of whether or not their post is logically sound. And since frags have become reminiscent of the "karma" system that reddit uses to judge whether or not a post is good instead of the content within it, it easily reduces discussion to a popularity contest.

Yeah old gotfrag was a collection of team circlejerks but the frag system was so easily manipulated with alt-accounts that they didn't really matter. This place has gotten ridiculous.

#252 ESEA Quick Fix Ruling in TF2 General Discussion
ScorpiouprisingUnfortunately, no one is willing to put the time and energy into actually testing them.

We played some really bad maps (not sure how willingly) in NMW, but you're right about this. Aside from your maps, people really liked Dorkster's cp_bunk and last I talked to him about it he said that he would have be fine with someone taking over if the .bsp hadn't been corrupted by something or other. Peaks was also something that was on the way to becoming a map people liked. Of course nothing ever happened with any of the maps until you took Revanence (I think that's what you called it before you changed it to Metalworks) and Process to the invite pugs because the overall skill level of those who cared in NMW was low and those who had a semblance of anything above open were just there to fuck around on 6s classes that weren't their mains and didn't really give two shits about the map. I wouldn't say that the effort wasn't there so much as people who had legitimately valuable experience didn't really care about it except for Healbot to some extent. Of course this apparently changed from just them to everyone when whoever it was took over from you guys after I took my hiatus.

I talked to Wax about it recently. I had hopes of bringing the weekends back even just for fun but I was extremely disappointed by the one that was held.

#9 Why the Quick Fix slows games (meta evaluation) in TF2 General Discussion

I'm still waiting for numbers and averages, not blue names and no names telling me WHY I should place my faith in their purely hypothetical belief about the QF, be it positive or negative.

#109 ESEA Quick Fix Ruling in TF2 General Discussion

I think it needs more testing time with a bigger testing group but I agree with MEESTA SHRIIN that a justified reason for banning it would be out of respect for Eurofriends who have barely experienced playing with and against it and would be forced to rush a new playstyle just for the QF.
