TheManWithNoNamewell, at least it is DICE that is making it (right?) as opposed to some other dev who has a long history of shit games...

No one has listed a developer for the game yet, but to humor the suggestion, let's list the games DICE has made since 2008:
Mirror's Edge
Battlefield Heroes
Battlefield 1943
Battlefield Bad Company 2 + Vietnam Expansion
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit
Battlefield Online
Medal of Honor
Battlefield Play4Free
Battlefield 3 + multiple $50 DLC packs

Unique games since 2007: 1
Battlefield games that weren't bad: 1
1 racing game which by virtue of racing games is mediocre
Games hyped by media to be good but were absolute shit: 6

Contrary to popular belief, DICE hasn't had a good track record since 2007. However, any developer suited for the task has been dead for many years now.

Yeah, I mixed up First Assault with this blunder. Regardless, the point still stands - this is going to eat shit hard.

#12 After a long wait in Off Topic

I saw the leaked footage of this some months ago. Not the BFIII build found on that Resident Evil game disc that promised seamless transition between land and space, but the newer one. There's a fucking trooper unlock/ability that's pretty much pyro airblast that brushes off thermal detonators and all types of grenades by poofing them back at the enemy team. Viewmodels are fucking gigantic. Nothing unique about the guns outside of a flamethrower (rip the Republic Arc Caster). XP for killing people and existing.

The worst part about this is that a lot of what SWBF enjoyable was the variations between each class. You could roam around as a Republic Engineer and a Jet Trooper duo, using a fully charged Arc cast to stun one guy and damage a group while the jet trooper scored the cleanup with the EMP launcher. Two SBDs for the CIS could do minor vehicle damage and take out turret emplacements because of how the wrist rockets worked. Wookie Smugglers could take a lot more damage than your standard Rebel Trooper and it made them ideal for leading charges. Dark Troopers were the ultimate in harassment and hit&run. And all of that is just going to be homogenized in favor of Call of Battlefield special knick-knack perks and unlocks.

I honestly feel bad for anyone playing this as their first Star Wars shooter. Yeah times change and all but for this, the original is going to be far superior to the "reboot".

#1 Advice in Hardware

So after seeing what I can do with my i5 760 in the following years and the state of my 5770 (part of the plastic enclosure is being held in place by some of my PSU cables), I find it necessary to get a new video card. I'm grabbing the 650 Ti 1gb, and I'm thinking about grabbing 8 gigs of RAM because it's just that affordable. There's one thing bugging me though: Cas Latency & timings for the RAM if I do purchase it.

Right now I have 4gb of RAM (2 by 2gb) at Cas Latency 7 (DDR3 1333 because that's what my mobo accepts). The RAM I'm getting is Cas Latency 8 (DDR3 1333), but I can get 8 gigs of it. Is the CL that big of a deal, should I be worrying about the timings, or is the quantity of the RAM provided more relevant?
