#10 Should I buy a 3DS? in Off Topic

The handheld market is pretty damn big right now.

I'd get a 3DS for Mario and Luigi: Dream Team alone. The M&L RPG games are easily 24 hours of content minimum and are worth more than two playthroughs. People I know loved Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and Fire Emblem: Awakening. Fox already mentioned Animal Crossing but I was never really a fan of those games myself. I can't keep track of all the new pokeymans, but X and Y honestly look to be the biggest steps forward since Gold and Silver (or HeartGold&SoulSilver).

I also like the Vita, but that's got a lot more JRPGs than the usual consumer would like

Show Content
plus people here would look at me funny if I said I'd get a Vita for Senran Kagura alone WHOOPS

EDIT:
I would recommend the regular 3DS over the XL purely because of the size unless you're honestly looking for a handheld that feels like a tablet. One of the older kids at the camp I work at has a XL, and I took out my Samsung YP-G70 to compare the size. The YP-G70 is a big-ass minitablet media player, and the XL was easily two of them when open.

#24 Tip of the Hats 2 Planning/Info in TF2 General Discussion

Absolutely YEARS ago, allllll the way back in early '08 when I was still in Team Interrobang back when it was first getting started, we had a pure "TI night" where it was members, incoming members, and really popular regulars. One of the funniest things I remember us doing was karaoke. Most of us had a good laugh about how bad the musically-impaired were at singing (I'm one of those people), but we had this one guy in his early 40s named Mondo who was able to do a pretty good John St. John impression and sang a little as "Duke Nukem". It might be corny and probably not viable at all, but what about a karaoke section? By the way people here are loved for doing wacky shit on stream, why not get a bunch of familiar faces in a server and duke it out - first one to get dominated has to sing a song, with the most recent donator getting to chose the song they have to sing.

One problem with this ends up being someone unironcally picks something by Psy or submits electronic music of some sort. Sounds good on paper, though.

Also I have enough metal to craft 9 hats and I have not a single fuck to truly give about them. When do donations open, or are they already?

dellortAnyways I made the point I wanted to make. Wasn't trying to attack eXtv personally, I just hope you're aware that you aren't always as open with the community as I think you could be, and while this issue was raised over a small matter, I think it's important to address because it could prevent any potential conflict between eXtv and members of the community on future projects.

Real.

I really don't like it when people start doing seemingly backhand stuff because no one will talk outside of building hype - reminds me too much of struggling with HiRezBart for weeks trying to get pugs going for friends and threadgoers after the Shazbowl.

#3 Laptop Repair in Hardware
Ryan1. Where can I repair my laptop in the NYC area? Any recommendations? Preferably Queens but I can take it elsewhere.

Where in Queens? There are three places in Great Neck that offer screen repair (although I haven't gone in to check prices) and I'm pretty sure there are at least a dozen in Flushing given how many Net Cafes there are in the heavily Korean part of Flushing (not sure about the quality there, though).

#185 i46 documentary in TF2 General Discussion
SalamancerIf either of those differences is cause for concern, as it seems they may be for gr8stalin, then by all means tell us. It's like I said before - if the majority of the most loyal TF2 fans think we're doing this the wrong way, we can probably still change it.

That's not my point at all.

I said twice, exactly the same way, that "$5 ain't nothin'". Those exact words. I even gave an example of something I normally throw $5 down on. This is a full-length documentary about one of the biggest events for TF2 that might actually end up going viral if it's the blockbuster it's being hyped as, and that is a train ticket good for a one-way trip to my gym, a pizza place I like, a kosher supermarket, a Rite Aid, a strip mall, etc. It's of equal value to me. I have no problem with the money or the quality itself - this opinion you are putting into my mouth and claiming it's mine (that right there is downright snakelike). The problem I have is exactly the same problem dellort has with it - it was a quiet decision to stealthily knock a "BUY NOW" button off the table onto the webpage and pretend it was always there.

RenhetPayment for a download is optional, and the kind of support that Luke deserves for a whole year of work for zero pay.

Devil's advocate:

Yeah, there's a viable platform that says June is getting hyper-retarded over $5 for what I'm assuming is a BluRay in terms of quality (June doggie you know FULL WELL how much anime BDs cost for just one season. That shit is like a week's paycheck before overseas shipping, handling, and customs. $5 ain't nothin' in the face of that). HOWEVER.

There's also the platform that dellort is currently on that is saying "well maybe it's kinda slick to suddenly throw up a BUY NOW button for a project that was supposed to be a not-for-profit documentary?". $5 ain't nothin' - that's a quarter short of a one way LIRR train ticket from Douglaston to Great Neck. The problem lies in that he's saying that somewhere along the line it changed from a community contribution to a paid download, and it wasn't just said up front that people could toss in 5bux for a HQ download for good lookin' local playback.

Also dismissing someone's posts as "flamebait" just so you don't have to give someone you don't like a valid response considering how big this project is supposed to be is a really childish and egotistical thing to do, especially here given how small the actively posting community is.

Never had to worry too much about enemy scouts when playing with Snark and Amazon, and Mana knows his shit. I'd hate to see this team not go through.

#8 Foc.us: shock your brain to improve gaming in Off Topic

It is the year 2065. After buying out the Foc.us company in 2014, Apple proceeded to utilize the Foc.us headset for a variety of functions with iOS systems. Soon, Apple's true nature came to light, and before anyone knew it, Earth as we knew it became iEarth. Poor citizens were forced to attend The iChurch of Steve Jobs and pay ridiculous iTaxes or face immediate death by the shockwaves produced by the Foc.us headset that was fused to each citizen's head.

A ray of light shines in these dismal times, however. Richard Stallman, now GNU+Stallman after fusing with an array of servers to become the first cloud intelligence, has transformed the Free Software Foundation into the Free Software Liberation Force. With his rag-tag band of open-source programmers and the remains of Microsoft, it is up to GNU+Stallman and the FSLF to save the world from the iAxis of Evil!

"Excuse me, but I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as my foot in your ass is actually GNU+my foot in your ass"

Stallman the Liberator hits theaters this summer.

#29 My Mouse is Autistic in Hardware
2sy_morphiendThere's basically a politically correct faction of tf.tv coming straight off of reddit that thinks that their feelings and plights must be constantly respected by all people in all matters (even when they are completely uninvolved).

This group of mouthbreathers have made this place horrible.

Right now I can call Hellbent the king of gay jewish nigger tactics and suffer no ill will but god forbid I call Conductor autistic, the Feelings Defense Force will descend upon me and place me in my own personal holocaust of "le downvote frags" for the following week because I'm "insensitive".

#30 Rise of the Triad 2013 18m MP Gameplay in Off Topic
DarkNecridThe game is more than likely going to be fine on super low settings + Smooth Textures.

Graphics != visual style.

Teleglitch has god-awful "muh retro" pixel graphics but everything is distinct - you can easily tell the difference between enemies, find hidden crevices, and know which parts of the environment are dangerous and which aren't. TF2 is ALL about visual style, even with all these god damn hats and cosmetics. You know who is what class and what they're holding. It's not about framerate, it's about being able to distinguish at a glance what's what. So far, the multiplayer demo videos haven't shown that this exists.
