#5 TF2 for High School E-sports League? in Esports
squishI tried getting my school on board with tf2 with their esports club since they are partnered with the High School Esports League but all they talk about is how much better overwatch is. Hopefully this being on TFTV could help change their minds

Overwatch is better for a program like this. Not because it's a better game but because there are so many more Overwatch players=more teams=more HS participation.

#35 What's an easy cheap meal in Off Topic

as a base get a ton of dried beans/lentils/rice and keep in your pantry, comes in handy when you're too lazy to go get fresh groceries.

rice cooker is nice but stove top works just as good if you carefully follow the instructions

whole chicken is always going to be cheaper than pieces, only downside is you have to be man enough to not be grossed out by all the bony bits.

last but not least, ground beef is going to real easy to cook. just put it in a pan season it(i like goya adobo) and move it around on med heat until all the red is gone enjoy with your rice/beans/lentils.

if you've never cooked anything before you're going to suck ass and it's going to be taste terrible but keep on trucking and you'll get better.

if you're health conscious at all keep kale/spinach and dark berries in your freezer for easy blending, I have a nutribullet and it's pretty great. if you don't have a blender then you can just steam your greens instead.

#6 help with english homework in Off Topic

Here is my best 5th grade interpretation:

>I placed a jar in Tennessee,
Literal, rural landscape comes to mind
>And round it was, upon a hill.
Literal, although the hill might just be a high place
>It made the slovenly wilderness
>Surround that hill.
I had to look up what slovenly means(it means untidy)
I think this line means either 1) the environment was captured within the jar's reflection(sorta like this) or 2) something about the jar commands attention like there's something special about it. akin to becoming the "center of the room"

>The wilderness rose up to it,
>And sprawled around, no longer wild.
This means that nature gradually becomes less wild as it reaches the top of the hill; less wild as in less trees/plants/life in general. sprawled meaning trees descending into grasslands. this could mean that jar is able to make what is wild refined.
>The jar was round upon the ground
The jar is flat on it's bottom, not on it's side; steady and sturdy
>And tall and of a port in air.
To me tall doesn't mean it's literally a tall jar but instead I think it means the Jar is particularly clean/shiny/brilliant and standing tall as if it's proud of itself. port of air meaning it's got a wide mouth that air can easily pass through. This can mean while it is steady it is not stubborn to change and flow

>It took dominion everywhere.
>The jar was gray and bare.
Basic, fundamental, raw, commanded respect
>It did not give of bird or bush,
Bird meaning scared, skittish and bush meaning passive, grounded, unmoving. this line reminds of of another poem that is about emotional stability. check it
>Like nothing else in Tennessee.

#4 going to college, need laptop recommendations in Hardware

If you're not going to game then just drop 200 bucks on a used laptop at any electronic outlet and just use dropbox or w/e to keep your stuff. Save your money.

#9 Somebody write a script to unexec valve mm in Customization

Before anyone bothers try it with 1 command and see if it works.

Try putting this in autoexec:
cl_drawviewmodel 0
alias cl_drawviewmodel ""

Launch a game and see if viewmodels are still disabled.

this dummy pulls in an average of 10k concurrent viewers; tf2 would be lucky to get that much exposure

#3 JumpBug in TF2 General Discussion

I haven't heard anyone talk about this before. Very cool; thanks for sharing!

To make this easier you can modify your jump key to unduck and it shouldn't mess anything up considering you can't jump when duck is held down.

alias +jumpUnduck "+jump;-duck"
alias -jumpUnduck "-jump"
bind space +jumpUnduck

#46 help my dad wants me to stop playing tf2 in Esports

Here is some more serious advice other than get a job and move out. Yeah you can argue your hypothesis and try to convince your dad that video games ain't that bad but fuck all that -- sound, logical arguments NEVER often do not win people over and instead just makes them more defensive. It will also probably be more trouble than it's worth; you gotta make the juice worth the squeeze.

I say make a deal with your dad. You love TF2 and want to play it and in exchange you will do x chores every week or get x grades in school. This is a grown up move and your dad will notice. It might suck but consider it as sacrifice to the TF2 gods. Of course, keep your end of the bargain -- don't slip up, NOT EVEN ONCE, or else it will all be for naught.
