Audio Technica ATH-ad700s are seriously comfortable. I wear them with fairly chunky glasses and I don't find it to be a problem.

I was having similar issues, everything seemed fine in some servers and then in others I'd have brutal lag spikes as well as lag whenever I used my mic.
I seem to have fixed it by turning off UPnP on my router, hopefully that helps someone (maybe not OP as you've checked multiple routers).
