certainly the "church" is fake and all of its members are satirists

but posts like this are a surprisingly accurate representation of the state of america today.

let's be honest, the number of republican (& even a few democratic) congressmen/senators/governors/etc who would agree non-ironically with most of the stuff that's posted on that forum is much higher than it would be in any civilised country, and will likely remain so until the economy has stabilised

but laugh about it if you'd like. i guess the videogame threads and flat earth proofs are kind of funny.

let's look at this practically though

team naming, in tf2, follows several predictable patterns -

1. sponsor's name
2. pithy phrase that sounds vaguely like it could be a sponsor's name, occasionally conveying a sense of dignity and endurance
3. nonsensical in-joke
4. terrible, groan-inducing puns
5. a completely accurate, if unimaginative, description of the team (e.g. Six Guys Off, A Bunch of Losers)

none of which one should be reliant on an online internet forum to provide.

the difference between reaction times of top invite players in this game (all of whom, as far as i know, identify as male) is significantly more than 20 ms so i don't see how that kind of difference is statistically significant

but probably the biggest reason women don't usually make it past open is because of the widespread sexism that is either actively promoted or passively tolerated by virtually all of the influential figures in the community. why bother to put in the effort to improve for a community that's hostile to you from the start because of something beyond your control? most people aren't that invested in a video game

i protest the naming of r/teamfortresstwox due to its heterosexist implication that gender is determined by the chromosomes and the subsequent exclusion of transfemales, women with androgen insensitivity syndrome and those with unusual or intersex chromosome patterns such as XO, XXY, XXX et cetera, if these marginalised groups are not also permitted to participate in these "women-only" events i will be complaining to the ACLU or.... something

also not sure how to feel about ruwin staying, on the one hand he's good at tf2 on the other hand he's a pretty unreliable person
