Yeah I felt that Demo could be organized better. Maybe it would be support because demoman usually picks off the low hp players damaged by the combat classes? TIL that demoman functions the exact opposite. Anyways it does weaken other players, so the combats can pick them. That could be a supportive side of the demoman.

#1 Reorganizing the Class Groups in TF2 General Discussion

In the "Valve and Competitive TF2" topic, there was a post explaining how the classes should be reorganized into different groups. Personally, I didn't think that post received much attention and necroing the topic isn't such a great idea.

Anyways, what the post stated was that Valve should replace the nine classes into the following groups:

1. Combat
-Scout
-Soldier

2. Support
-Demo
-Medic

3. Pick
-Sniper
-Spy

4. Defense
-Heavy
-Engineer
-Pyro

I believe that this would be a really good change for competitive. It can even help new players, who are getting into competitive, show what the standard usage for each class is. Could this be a good idea?

SideshowHas anybody figured out why they changed the uber build rate in setup time? Doesn't every map have 60 seconds which is more than enough time to get an uber anyway? Not getting the point or what they were trying to do, unless they're gonna reduce setup time to 30 sec.

I think it's unlikely that they will reduce it to 30 seconds. Engies in highlander need around 45-60 seconds to fully build their gear.

trashdeetrWhether or not they will use them in a matchmaking mode is unknown. They didn't use pro versions of maps in csgo mm and instead tried to add some of the changes the pro versions made that they liked into the regular versions of the maps.I sort of assumed this is why viaduct_pro has that awkward new name of product. I mean, if TF2 can have weird halloween versions of maps, I don't see why they couldn't have pro variants, style them up as "alternatively-themed of old classics" since a lot of them are also artpassed for a more summer-like season

Valve should add the pro maps, like how there used to be "se" maps in csgo. Then again, they removed the se maps because it apparently split up the community(?).

#24 Windows 10 in Hardware

I forgot to tell you guys, but I did upgrade (not a clean install) a few days ago, but I went back to Windows 7 a few hours later. The OS was good looking, little hard to get myself around but I still got the hang of it. I also noticed a lot more smoothness.

What made me switch back was the ping. I don't know why, but my ping was spiking a lot and I couldn't get it down. When I switched back, everything went back to normal, low ping.

So it's been about 4 months after the full release of Windows 10. Question is, should I just upgrade or keep my Windows 7? What are some cons to upgrading, and what are some pros? Are there any benefits to source games, or games in general?

TechDudeSet the convar engine_no_focus_sleep to 0 if you want a source game to run at the same framerate when it's not maximized or actively selected (in the case of windowed mode).

Honestly you should just be happy with the frames you're getting....

144hz monitor, and it's annoying when it dips below 150 fps

yes, i have multicore rendering enabled, core parking disabled, -thread 4, etc.
that literally doesn't seem possible

are you running fullscreen and tabbing out? do it in windowed mode so the game doesn't put itself to sleep when you're measuring it

there's no way it's using that little of both CPU and GPU

ok so i did that and now it's really inconsistent. sometimes, both the cpu and gpu usage go low as 20%, and the next few seconds it's at 90%

#11 how do you overclock a locked cpu?
