#1 LF medic mentees in Mentoring

hello all,

looking to help a few aspiring medics (like 2?) and possibly a low/mid open team next season to mentor. i used to mentor a few friends and their teams before, and i found it helped me stay focused when I wasn't scrimming every day.

i've played about 3 full seasons in ESEA, this season with Playground Tactics and last season with Server Depopulation Squad. I'm west coast and I'm on most evenings. down to do map reviews, demo reviews, spec scrims and whatever if you feel it will help you.

please note: i really don't want to help people that don't want it. there are plenty of people who will ask for advice and simply won't take it. it feels stupid to have to say this, but this is usually what turns me off to trying to help whole teams. just something to keep in mind.

thanks guys, add me and we can talk: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197966146199/

#25 As much as i play in TF2 General Discussion

http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLD098F81F2CA74F00

some dated knowledge but still useful. the clockwork videos about scout basics and midfights are pretty good.

also i wasn't aware you couldnt watch demos on a mac. that sucks.

#13 Started a new 6s Team! Lots of questions in Q/A Help

i think its also important to point out that at the low levels of 6s a lot of wins usually come down to DM fights.

meaning there isnt going to be a lot of emphasis on teamwork but more on hitting shots. if you recognize that, then i would even say your first step is getting your DM up to par before really trying to employ strats outside of basic positioning.

the next part is having everyone on your team get their rollouts down on every map: your heal orders need to be correct, your demo needs to hit the right jumps, your scouts need to coordinate where they are going at mid, and your roamer can't get too far away from your medic. your pocket should just be equalizing, but needs to know when to start getting healed so that both of your soldiers have ~300 when getting to mid.

even with those fundamentals in place, you'll probably win most of your matches in steel just by getting to mid quickly and with good health, and then the DM to take the rest of the points easily.

marxist is super helpful, im sure if you guys start scrimming and give him a STV demo to review he can give you more feedback later on.

#7 UGC Fortress Forever League in Off Topic
lyna4v4 offense vs defense. This is not Team Fortress Classic, this is a mod for the source engine that is quite a bit alike to Team Fortress Classic.

yeah i know what fortress forever is, i just wanted to know if the format was going to be the same as when TFC was still being played competitively. thanks though :)
