"John Carmack (Score:2) defeats Teapot LFT (Score:0) in duel to 2 on Turris"
raikuI think valves new update messed up something with the connection or something, loads of people have some issues lately.
Yeah, lots of people are getting issues with extrapolation now...I'm wondering what Valve could have done to cause the issues in the first place, though I don't know a whole lot about how the game's code works, anyway.
triplemintThose are exactly my rates, and I usually get 30 ish ping to this server
Well, I just proposed the fix that worked for me. Others have said the issue went away on its own for them, so hopefully the issue will go away for you too. Sorry I can't help you any further.
Try setting cl_cmdrate and cl_updaterate to 66, and rate to 100000.
Also try playing on <100 ping servers, lol
TerywjIs red bars the orange bars? I just played a pug with the cl_ settings you mentioned and it seems to be good now but there were definitely red bars above the green above the blue.
Not those.

If you look at the section labeled 9 on that image (taken from here) you'll see the blue interp graph as well as a space above it, below the green. In that space, you may see orange bars that represent extrapolation. If you don't see those orange bars, then you're not experiencing extrapolation.
You'll see those bars inside the blue too, but they're not a problem.
liaslookadisTry net_graph 2 and see if you see any orange bars on the bottom above the blue (the blue is interpolation, the orange is extrapolation which is bad).Oh my gosh I've had this problem for the last 2 years and finally a working solution thanks :)
If you are experiencing extrapolation, try setting cl_cmdrate and cl_updaterate to 66 and rate to 100000. If you're in a game when you do this, disconnect and reconnect. This worked for me when I had a similar issue.
Glad I could help c:

You could also use chris's maxframes if you're okay with losing some quality to increase performance.
Also check video settings to make sure nothing changed to a higher quality, i.e. high-quality models or shaders instead of low-quality ones
kuzaif you have an nvidia card you can check your max pre-rendered frames and drop it down to 1. Default is 3.
With ATI it's called flip-queue but I'm not sure how you would go about changing it there, sorry.
I have an Nvidia card and that helped quite a bit, thanks.
The shot still doesn't coincide with my clicking, although it's definitely closer. Is it possible for the shot to happen at the exact same time that I click? Or is it impossible because it takes time to get the mouse input, interpret it, and shoot?
GeknaiirCould be huge amounts of input lag, ping issues, or interp settings.
I'm only having input lag issues with clicking, movement is perfectly fine. I'm having this problem even if I create a server.
As for interp settings, the following is from my autoexec:
cl_cmdrate 66
cl_interp_ratio 1
cl_lagcompensation 1
cl_pred_optimize 2
cl_smooth 0
cl_smoothtime 0.01
cl_updaterate 66
rate 60000
(My class cfgs have different cl_interp settings; Scout has 0.033, for example.)
I've had this problem since long before this forum got me hooked on Cookie Clicker, haha. Before, I just thought my aim was off, so I just kept playing.
Going Grandmas-only at the moment, by the way.
Interp is at 0.033. And yeah, it's TF2 only.
I tried a different USB port but it didn't make a difference. Like I said, my left touchpad button has the same issue.
Also, to note, there isn't any input lag for mouse movement, just for clicking.
Whenever I click LMB to shoot, there's a slight delay between the click and the shot, around 1/2 a second. It's been throwing me off a lot trying to play scout, as if I have to predict-fire my hitscan weapons.
I don't think it's my mouse (Logitech m705) as I have the same problem with the touchpad buttons on this laptop, but I'm not sure what else it could be. I'll get specs up shortly, if needed.
The Fall and The Stranger by Albert Camus. My favorite 2 books of all time.
My hitsound works with the filepath tf > custom > MyStuff > sound > ui > hitsound.wav.
I don't know if the folder names are case-sensitive, can you try just changing "Sound" to "sound"? Sorry, I don't have any better ideas.
EDIT - tried changing my own folder to "Sound" to test this, didn't work. Nevermind.
