Is there some way to have double elimination in the cup? I don't think most Mid/IM guys who participate in these cups have always planned to win them when they sign up, but more like to have fun and play against somewhat actual teams instead to play for the prize money. At least that's how I've experienced this, many teams always join these planning to have fun while they get rolled in their first round to a Prem/Invite team and then play again in next Wednesday/Sunday, not good.
I understand that it's some achievement to get to play against a team that is in a higher skill level than your team, but if they start to bash on the people they are rolling then that's eliminating all the fun for everybody except the winners.
I agree with the double elim, as dilusive has said he's possibly working on it.
Not sure why you felt the need to try and create some drama in this thread though, it's not gonna serve any purpose besides derailing so maybe refrain from doing that here. (That sucks that happened to your team, not defending anyone just don't derail with drama)
BLoodSire"Doesn't deserve a spot in comp play," is a throw away phrase. We need to think long and carefully about what gets banned because of imbalance as opposed to what gets banned because of annoyance. For years "annoyance" has been winning as far as the ban list is concerned. It's what originally kept the boston bashed banned. It's why people always fall back on "ban heavy" cries. With MM on the way, the community should be looking less to ban current legal items unless they are causing a significant change to the 6v6 meta. Let's be real, the loose cannon is not. If a team's demo can use it to deny an uber, great job for him, that works into the meta. It doesn't cut it.
Ya its annoying and overpowered tbh. I don't know how much you have been playing recently but I know for my teams perspective and many other teams I talk to about it, when there is a loose cannon in play it very much changes how you have to approach pushes unless you want to just get mulched. Its like Avast said, the weapons utility aspect is good and should be used as a trade off to normal pipes but when its given an obscene amount of damage as well then yes, thats overpowered and not just "annoying".
It may not be completely meta changing but really the only single item to have a significant shift on the meta was when gunboats were introduced.
Agree with that its too random for competitive and the ability to basically 1 shot medics is ridiculous.
I think the biggest problem with it in competitive is that its just a very LOW skill/high reward weapon, most weapons in the game do require good aim etc but Loose cannon you just shoot it straight at a corner and can expect a double donk like 90% of the time and that effect is extremely powerful for how much skill is requires.
gotta start getting your teams signed up! we won't have an ESEA season without more open teams and there is only 8 days left! I've paid for a full UGC team to play and maybe another so you guys should all be paying up to who plan on playing!

really love the way this is organized, great mods and easy to use, really enjoyed playing on this format!
only thing id like to suggest is that if we are playing bo1 maps I think it would be better if it was double elim, maybe im just feeling this way because we lost first round but would be nice to have a chance to play some more games! I think it would also be fine if it was just straight up bo3s for every round!

Im not trying to dampen the mood cause I love all this chat, but unfortunately if there isn't enough open teams to play this season there won't be an Invite division to speak of and its looking pretty grim right now :(

I sponsored those teams because I felt they deserve it especially for playing in esea when the league is struggling for teams, and they had a lot of younger players . are you saying everyone deserves donations? Not really sure 100 dollars to sit at your computer doing jack ("streaming") is really deserving of community donation. I think it's just Stupid there are actually people in this thread that think it's difficult to work in Brazil, doesn't really matter the amount and what references are given tbh.
