scoreboard is broken for me at 1920x1080, toggling scoreboard from menu yields slightly better results but still broken

http://imgur.com/a/KHjIk

replacing scoreboard.res with the minimal one was still broken as well for me

shouldn't you reformat your computer? if you downloaded an exe off a website giving them backdoor access i don't think changing your passwords is enough assurance that nothing else will happen

#8 Resume advice? in Off Topic

if you don't have good/impressive work experience then put that at the bottom and then put your relevant skills and qualifications from your college program at the top, that's what I did and I got a lot more interviews. Just take things from your program description if you need to

also if you still don't get any interviews and feel your experience is lacking then do some volunteering in your field, even if it's just a few hours you can put it on and it looks really good to employers

#9 School in Off Topic

I had the same exact issue in college and it took me failing a class to realize that I actually had to get into gear and do work.

The biggest piece of advice I can recommend is to make or go to a place that is only for work. For example, idk about your school but at my college they kept the library open 24/7 so I just went there to do all my work, there was no distractions and no temptation to play games or any of that. And if you just adapt it into your schedule it's not that big of an inconvenience, like if I had class from 8am-1pm I'd go to the library from 1-4 to do all my work, then go home and play games. If you school doesn't offer anything just go to a public library or at the very least set up a distinct spot in your house w/o a computer or TV or anything to do work.

Also I'm not gunna repeat what other people said about the psychologist but if you just tell them what you said here, they can likely give you way better advice. Don't be embarrassed about that shit, it's their job and they hear shit that's 10x worse every day.

#12 144hz to non-dvi in Hardware

TechDudeMost laptops don't have HDMI 1.4b which is required for 120hz+ output.

You're best off sticking with displayport or DVI-D.

if i only have HDMI/VGA, do I have any other options to get 120+hz?

downpourHDMI supports 120Hz
dunno about 144
i remember using a VGA to Dual Link DVI converter to use my CRT at 100Hz but I don't know if all monitors would be that kind.

oh okay then that's fine for my laptop, when i was reading online i misunderstood and thought hdmi only did 60hz

thanks

#1 144hz to non-dvi in Hardware

So after christmas I ordered the BenQ XL2411Z 144hz monitor, and I plan to use it with my desktop PC in the future. However my PC has a broken video card, I'm going to replace it when I have money but for the foreseeable future I'm using a fairly decent laptop, can get 120+ fps on tf2 which is good enough for me.

However my question is, can I get 144hz on a laptop that doesn't have a DVI port? It has HDMI/VGA. I know VGA can't support 120+hz and only certain versions of HDMI can (haven't checked mine). Could I use a VGA to dual DVI adapter or would that not work?
