downpourshowstopper$84.95the funniest part about this to me is that the Fighting Game Community made a HUGE deal when a tournament organizer charged $8.95 to individuals for higher stream quality + VOD access (and more recently $14.95 for an entire Pay Per View event). So I can't even imagine if they had to pay $84.95 to play in a tournament that doesnt ENTIRELY work.
JUST WANNA PLAY VIDEO GAMES HERE
tbf the amount of organization and shit that a fighting game tournament requires is less so than a multiplayer game utilizing servers and the like, to the point where its feasible to host local tournaments with basically no cost
FGC can't host shitty tournaments or people will just host their own

AndKennethTF2 is prime example of a fairly core RNG feature, random crits. Remember tf2 shipped with no way to turn them off.
If they want to have it as a competitive game then likely they will listen to their competitive players and adjust accordingly.
Or they just might throw thousands of dollars at it and people will play because money.
Crits aren't really a "core" feature
they're about as arbitrary as a mechanic can be
otoh, RNG isn't necessarily bad, CSGO has core RNG (movement spread, noscopes), but the game is fine regardless, even if in rare situations games can be won by a sprinting shot
RNG is fine when done well
