do I regret my thousands of hours spent playing/watching TF2? not that much, actually - there are a lot of cool people in the community, and the plays that people have pulled off in this game are legitimately inspiring
would I recommend this game to new players? absolutely not
Legitimately one of the biggest sleeper picks in open - it is insane how good he is at both landing pipes on demo and overall gamesense on medic. It may sound like I'm exaggerating, but trust me, you should have no hesitation in trying him out on demo this season if you are leading an ambitious open team. Plus, he's a friendly guy. squidie is a player to keep your eye on.
Strong at sniper and very nice lad. zanda is 100% worth a tryout, especially if you're not a fan of toxic players.

8 months ago, I wrote a basic dark theme for logs.tf in response to a user inquiry. I'm planning on possibly updating and simplifying the theme, so I decided to make a separate thread for it in preparation. If you haven't seen it yet, I hope you enjoy, and feel free to leave suggestions for improvement. I recommend using the Stylus extension to install it (Chrome, Firefox).
Link to the theme: https://userstyles.org/styles/152997/logs-tf-dark-theme
Changelog:
- updated table borders
2018/08/24 (2)
- colors have been changed and also now use HSL (try customizing them at the top)
- log name font size increased
- system font is now used when possible
2018/08/24
- fixes log settings button appearance after the recent logs.tf design update
2017/12/17 (2)
- supports the TF2 S.T.A.R.S. browser extension (http://steamcommunity.com/groups/stars-tf2)
2017/12/17
- initial release

Fantastic medic with great gamesense and the surfs to match. However, my personal hope is for her to get picked up on demo. If that doesn't work out, I think she'll be an amazing positive asset to your high open team as medic. Definitely worth trying out.
I think it's 100% fair to avoid picking up frkshw due to his previous cheating. When you cheat in a multiplayer game that people play competitively, the damage to your reputation and loss of trust is the minimum price to pay. I just wanted to say that, for what it's worth, my previous interactions with frkshw (before any of the cheating incidents) were pretty much all positive/neutral, and that I agree with rita and doubt he still cheats.
Perhaps I'm being too generous or naive, but it seems to me that he is sincere and that he has been sufficiently ostracized over the past few months. If anyone posts reasonably strong evidence that he continues to cheat, then I'll edit this post and condemn him (feel free to PM me so I get a notification).
@frkshw: your Steam profile doesn't make people want to take your statements seriously. The only thing you might really want on there is your previous competitive history. When your reputation is in the red, you need to do what you can to not give out even more reasons to dislike you. It makes sense that people would doubt your in-game performance even if you no longer cheat. Posting their quotes only makes you look like you lack all self-awareness, and I hope this isn't the case. Best of luck with finding a supportive team and improving your standing in the community.
Kyappy has great hitscan DM and is relatively nice; I still don't understand how she aims on sniper. She could really use a better microphone (it's decent in Mumble, but doesn't work well in Discord), but that's obviously not a slight against her as a player.
Scratchh also has strong DM on scout and sniper. He will hopefully keep improving his previously contentious attitude. His gameplay is pretty consistent; honestly, his reputation would be so good if he was never allowed near a chat box. If you invite him to your Discord server, don't give him image perms for at least the first week.
I think both players are good pickups for low/mid IM teams who plan to scrim a fair amount. They are young and clearly have lots of potential. If you're looking for solid pickups, try them out and see how you mesh with them.
Playing the game is amusing, but note that if you want the current max rank Salien badge (rank 6, attained at level 21), scripting is required; you can't accumulate enough XP just by playing manually. This is similar in spirit to the scripting required for the level 100,000,000 badge from the 2015 Monster Summer Sale minigame. The difference is that this time, you are required to script with your token - you can't just hope to get lucky and end up in a room full of scripters like you could in 2015.
The sale and the game end on July 5th, so if you're considering going for this rare-ish badge, act quickly! Many community members have written easy-to-use XP farming scripts, including xPaw from SteamDB: https://github.com/SteamDatabase/SalienCheat. With the recent addition of bosses, leveling up is fairly quick.
You might be thinking that doing all this to earn a badge is pretty pointless, in which case, you'd be right. However, even if you're not interested in the badge, participating in the game and exploring your Discovery Queue daily allow you to earn several trading cards and event cosmetics, which you can sell on the Steam Community Market for "free" money. :)

harbleu's stream, starting at the beginning of the TF2 section: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/251224511?t=04h13m09s
skip to 05:32:21 for the TF2PL pug
b4nny's perspective: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/251243941?t=04h36m26s
If you try hard enough, you can sync the two VODs up. harbleu played medic pretty well for someone who hasn't played in invite for years!
minicircleHarbleu reinstalled TF2 and had fun playing it for a few minutes...He said that he'd like to possibly play more TF2 next weekend.
Turns out he's actually streaming TF2 (in-game matchmaking) right now if you want to check out the stream! "Pyro has a jetpack now?!"

Short answer: unfortunately, no, due to incredibly high supply and low demand.
If you really don't want to have them in your inventory, I would recommend just deleting all of the $0.03 crates and moving on with your life if you don't want to wait for buyers. The Steam Community Market adds your sell order to a global queue for that item sorted by price, then date listed so that the earliest listings get sold first; I've had to wait months for some of my crates to sell for a $0.01 profit. There's no harm in listing them on the Market to save space in your inventory, but deleting them is faster.
Some of the older crates can go for higher, meaning that you can list them on the SCM for cheap and sell them relatively quickly (e.g. Series #33 goes for $0.07 right now, so sell it instantly for $0.06).

Harbleu reinstalled TF2 and had fun playing it for a few minutes (turns out his scout aim is still solid even when having to deal with TF2's awful default settings)!

People in the chat told him about TF2PL, but he wasn't really able to get it set up -- it might be best if someone can help him out and move him into the amateur or advanced division later. He said that he'd like to possibly play more TF2 next weekend.
To close out the stream after Dark Souls 3, he showed his viewers Beater's Harbleu Legacy video:

If installing the style from the page still doesn't work, I would recommend just copying the CSS into a new style as a workaround (which you may have already done).
