I like this game a lot. If I had more friends who played i would play more. I didn't feel like the character unlocks were grindy at all.

I don't like playing alone in these types of games.

been listening to kind of blue since i was months old. im not sure, ill have to ask my parents, but i think i was probably listening to it before i was born.

its sort of funny because every time i listen to a rap song i really like, i think... hey, this guy's flow is almost as good as Bill Evans.

bill evans fucking slammed that album. i fucking love bill evans.

And the rest -- the leads are top notch as well don't get me wrong. Saxophone is my second favorite instrument, Adderley and Coltrane knocked it out of the park. And Miles' trumpet is like an extension of himself. But the piano makes it. There's absolutely no way the album would even compare without Evans on it. I mean every solo on that album is just stepped up because of the percussive and melodic piano. i can't even fucking imagine being able to play the piano on a jazz record like that. just thinking about it gets me excited.

Worth it imo.

I dislike how cartoony it is, sc4 had a much better artstyle, but the artstyle is nearly the only complaint i have about the game.

It's about 70% of SC4 id say. Comparable to sc3 in its day.

God im so sad for the city building genre though. Can you fucking imagine what could be done with a realistic isometric/2d city sim with today's hardware? I'm sure the DOT or CALTRANS or someone has some type of simulator that could blow these things out of the water and maybe they could make that research available to a game dev, but i feel nobody has really put in the effort to making a complex city sim.

Also you can really tell the developer is from a very white country (finland) because of how homogeneous the people/buildings in game are named and how similar all of the architectural styles are to each other. I would like to see them bring some more diversity to the game for east asian/east european/classic american layouts.

it's like, the first actual city builder in more than a decade. SC4 came out in 2003. There's basically cities xl, sc2013 (lol), and this. and yes this is much better than both by a lot.

bragging about getting picked up by an invite team for like 3/16ths of an actual season is actually pants on head retarded. there have been 8 or 9 invite teams every season, that's 18 seasons. EVERY season, 5 teams DO NOT make it to LAN. most of them die after 1 season of playing, some after 2, and very rarely, they will stick around for 3.

you do the math there. that's over 1/2 of the division typically being cycled and moved around every year. typically, once people make it to a low invite team and play a fair amount of matches, they realize how fucking retarded bragging about "making invite" is, because they intuitively know and understand the enormous skill divide between low and high invite-- because theyre getting pounded in the division.

Some of those players (not you obviously, your team died and you have no history in the div beyond that), they will cycle through, playing on different teams and with dogged determination (not you, since you played 2 matches), humility (not you, since you're bragging about it on the forum), and practice (not you, because you're trolling low/mid teams you find in IRC), make it to LAN, at which point they have their god given rights to brag about being skilled.

now, obviously, there's an exception to every rule, but that's by and large how things go for low invite teams like r5.
