If women want to be taken seriously, they need to stop allowing themselves to be presented as novelties on all-female teams. They play games online, they know how people are, they still agreed to be a boob collection team. If it was about just playing with friends who happen to be girls and not shit at the game, that'd be kind of different. But men and women in competitive gaming are participating in segregation of the sexes and then wondering why sexism in video games is such an issue.
And maybe this team DOES just happen to be all-female because these women just happen to like playing with each other. Who are you to determine why they're playing with each other? Do you know them? Did you go to school with one of them? Do you hang out in their mumble secretly overnight and hear all kinds of misandrist talk about trying to show those mean COD boys their place? Have they flashed their breasts to you as a distraction?
Your argument that an all-female team promotes segregation is hilariously weak when a majority of competitive teams are already all-male, and I guarantee you some of those men do not want a female player on their team. There have been cases of women playing in teams merely for show, but only because team sponsors try to push them out for extra support and viewers. That's not the woman's fault; she just wants to play her favorite game, yet a system run by men makes them easy to exploit. And now we have an all-female team for a popular game that's being sponsored by a respected organization and you say they're only there to be shit at the game.
You are right that sexism in video games is an issue, but you've got it entirely backwards and I desperately hope you do not work in any sort of industry that has similar issues with representing and respecting women. How should we really get past this problem? By treating an all-female esports team as boring news and as no big deal.
%40 of the gaming population is female. That number is quickly approaching %50. Why should we be so surprised by teams filled with women? Are you offended because your games now smell more flowery?
Believe me, there are a few women out there who will refuse to play with men which also does not help us pass this barrier, but I can't say I blame them when there's less of a chance of hearing blatant sexism and rape jokes in your ear whenever you play. So, my friend, relax, your playground hasn't been tainted and these women literally have no impact on your life. Girls just wanna have fun.
I still do wonder if the people who decided to implement the original ridiculous requirements/drm have actually learned anything in the long run. They're not the first to try it and other companies have been burnt spectacularly before them.
Doing a Twitter prediction contest for this game, follow us @TeamFortressTV and send in your final score+winning team preds before we go live for a chance to get free metal, holla.

Always hated cigarettes as a kid because my schools did big nonsmoking events to discourage us from trying. Showing bowls of flem, hooking up a smoker's lung to an air pipe, other freaky shit that really got to you when you're 8.
Then I went to Scotland for university and pretty much everyone smoked. Right outside the university doors, right outside apartments, lighting up right next to their newborn babies lordy. I could never handle cigarette smoke before but I got so used to it by my final year there. Fortunately I arrived a few months after the whole country passed nonsmoking laws for indoors, and then the smoking age went from 16 to 18 soon after. I started to understand why the habit was so addictive in the first place, and damn was it tempting to start smoking during breaks with my coffee. Managed to resist though I've certainly eyed e-cigs a lot. A co-worker of mine offered a puff off her e-cig but I didn't want to tempt myself even further into the habit.
My grandma smoked for almost 40 years and quit before I was born. Now she's got about half a lung and has to bring an oxygen tank with her most of the time. It's a nice, grim reminder that it's probably not worth it.
so there friday
you better finish it ya wuss
