#36 Pyro does way too much damage now in TF2 General Discussion

Was posted day one of Jungle Inferno. Basically flame particles are behaving like the bison and hitting more than once.

DarkNecridhayesthe flamethrower does require some tracking skill
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_2h1xvFdEU

look at my "tracking" """skill"""

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTQqBjVr2F4
There's a script for it now. Being able to flail wildly and be rewarded with 120 damage for that is absolutely ridiculous. Anyone remember that clip at SweLAN when two scouts were going for last on Gully with ~60 health and a pyro just flailed and killed both of them?

tsarJunkVery good video. Short and gets to the point.

Also, that part with Richard Lewis reminded me of this video where he shits on Blizzard and talks about e-sports as a whole. If you haven't watched it, you should, it's surprisingly informative.
Unpopular opinion, but when he talked about there being way too much information in OW for the uneducated player to pick up on, it reminded me of the whitelist situation. We have 100+ weapons unbanned, and, while many are rarely used, it is a lot of information. And even seasoned players usually do not know all of the stats to the more obscure weapons that may be used. If we were to use a more strict whitelist, it would make the game substantially more approachable as knowing what around 20 some weapons do is a lot less information for a new player to need to know then 100 some.

And yet a popular opinion I hear when people talk about why they aren't into 6s is the fact that the whitelist exists in the first place. A lot of players don't seem to understand why it's necessary, because things that are alright for pubs are quite obviously not alright in a server with only half the players. Banning more weapons definitely isn't the way to go, I think, but it's hard for Valve to hit the right balance between pubs and more serious gameplay with a lot of weapons.

#35 What does Comp. community think about new maps? in TF2 General Discussion
billwI was on mercenary park and said "god this map is so shit" in chat. I then got votekicked by like 8 people so clearly pubbers enjoy it at least

The most popular pub maps are Dustbowl, 2fort, Gold Rush, Hightower, and Baddiewater, of course they love it. Sometimes I really do wonder why the pub community loves maps that are just awful to play on so much.

ShearsIs a pro version of koth_brazil viable for 6s?

Seems like basic changes to make it more playable would be:
-Remove mess of corridors opposite point
-Drastically cut down sniper sightlines

Would this be enough? What other changes would you want?

Remove the cliff because being juggled off a map hazard is not fun.

GritomaNot to mention that there is the weird occasion where the train alarm sound effect only played occasionally for both trains. Not sure if anyone else had this problem but i'd leave out of banana bay right spawn just to get blindsided by a silent train.

Someone straight up told me that that's not a problem because you can just look to the right and check to see if the train is coming. Also like how every single one of the new maps has a map hazard that honestly has no right to exist, like the trains and the crocodiles. I guess whoever playtested these really likes airblasting people off cliffs.

It's a portmanteau of mastercom and config.

Brazil and Banana Bay are both Sniper Sightlines: The Map. Lazarus was merely okay, and Mercenary Park has a lot of weird design flaws. Words cannot express how much I hate the random train on both Moss Rock and Banana Bay, though.

sendi just wanna shit all over the idea of more microtransactions in tf2 you're right

There's absolutely nothing wrong with TF2's microtransaction model, though. If you're offended by some of the newer hats breaking the artstyle, just use no hats mod or something. I feel like people who hate on microtransactions don't really understand the difference is between some company like Nexon doing it and Valve doing it.

prsnjeah i saw that already and figured that i dont want to do that since thats too complicated

It's not that complicated once you actually attempt to do it. Even an idiot like me can figure out how to make weapon skins, you just have to try instead of looking at the directions and immediately saying "this is too hard" without even attempting anything.

#24 Why did Valve nerf Ambassador so harshly? in TF2 General Discussion
Jason_HeyThe DR nerf was overkill. They overshot the finish line with that one. Should've made all ammo packs give the amount of a small ammo pack for a start and see how it fairs but for now this cloak is dead.

Playing a Payload pub(or any map with a bunch of ammo packs, really, but Payload has it the worst) against a DR spamming spy was usually a nightmare. They never died, they just surfed from ammo pack to ammo pack and having to drop everything to chase down this one spy across the entire map with his speed boost so he doesn't farm Diamondback crits of your tard teammates was not fun to play against. The most important concept when it comes to whether to buff or nerf a weapon should be "is it fun to play against" and not purely "is it fun to play as." Shame the diamondback also went untouched, there's a lot of weapons that just went unnoticed by Valve.

#13 every contract done club? in The Dumpster

I was hoping Valve would fix the heavy exploit before I start grinding contracts because honestly I don't even want to deal with that right now.

skatesnot sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but loosecannon is bugged and it wont do the doubledonk image or sound
SO UNSATISFYINNNNG

It also doesn't count double donks for the contract that involves the loose cannon.

#87 Are you happy with the pyro update changes? in TF2 General Discussion

I honestly feel that it was pretty underwhelming, because I don't really care about pyro enough to be excited for balance changes to him and the ones that they decided to go with seem mediocre. Lack of competitive/casual changes is really what kills the entire thing for me. Only silver lining is that now I get to level my strange natascha on jetpack pyros with no air control.
