#7 Binding of Isaac Rebirth: Afterbirth+ in Other Games

It seems like the new final boss is pretty much impossible unless you have a very OP run. I went in with 12 hearts and some extremely good items (Brimstone + proptosis + Magic mushroom to name a few) and still only got out with like 4 or 5 hearts I think. Definitely going to be interesting to see how many people can actually beat it with Keeper or the Lost, or whatever masochistic character Edmund hid in the game that people haven't found yet.

#103 how has your tf2 career changed you? in TF2 General Discussion

I'd say TF2 definitely made me become a lot more sociable. I was kind of a loner for the majority of my time in high school and never really made any particularly close friends, and because of that I was pretty socially awkward in a lot of ways (still am tbh, but not nearly as much). Getting to know tons of people in pub communities as well as spending a lot of time with various comp teams helped me get out of my shell more than I would have in my normal life. Although I haven't really talked to any of these people for a while since I haven't been involved with TF2 recently, I don't think I'll forget the impact some of them had on me. I've thought a lot about getting back into comp just to reconnect with some old friends, even though comp is a bit more inconvenient for me now then it used to be.

#54 Thoughts on Overwatch? in Other Games

There are some glaring problems with certain heroes right now, but if Blizzard can balance things correctly before or soon after launch I could see the game having a sizable and fresh competitive scene. I don't think that the skill ceiling of the game in general is as high as TF2 (not sure that's even a matter of opinion), but I also think that people writing off the game as a joke with no competitive potential is a bit harsh. After playing some pugs a few times with different groups of players, as well as simply having 6-stack vs 6-stack games in quick-play, I think the game can be decently competitive while still being fun to play casually. But like I said, significant changes need to be made to certain heroes, Widowmaker and McCree being the worst offenders at the moment.

It's definitely not a replacement for TF2 like a lot of people make it out to be; it's a much different experience. I've seen a lot of comp TF2 players hating on it and honestly I can see why, however personally I really enjoyed my time playing it. It's obviously not a game that everyone will enjoy, though.

Been playing this game in my spare time for a few weeks now. It's such a simple game but there are so many ways you can outplay people, it never gets old.

#7 Rightjustify lft open demo in Recruitment (looking for team)

IM-level demoman in my opinion. I've had nothing but positive experiences playing with him this season (except for him taking 6 hours to restart his computer).

#9 LFT Scout (Low/Mid Open) in Recruitment (looking for team)

I've known Cayda basically since she started playing competitively, and she has always been a very dedicated, reliable player that is always trying to improve. If she spends some time refining her DM I could easily see her doing well on a mid-open team in the future. If you want someone who you know for a fact will improve a lot over the course of a season, pick her up. I would imagine she would get significantly better at a very fast rate if she had the opportunity to play against open teams more frequently.

#3 mm expanded beta! in TF2 General Discussion
Have Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator enabled.

I don't really care for the app, but I guess now I have a good reason to use the authenticator.

Now there's another beta I get to hope I get into while I have my hopes crushed with every wave of invites.

AcyridIf tf2 will have in comp ranks, smurf inc

what is the point of smurfing in TF2 when you can just go join a valve server that uses nearly the same ruleset that matchmaking will have

#12 Firewatch in Other Games

Started the game this afternoon and completed it in 3-4 hours in one sitting.

Personally I really enjoyed it and I had no qualms with the price of the game. If you're looking for a game with a notable amount of gameplay, this game might not be for you. It's essentially a walking simulator, except you occasionally have to interact with some objects and look at your map to figure out where to got to next (you can disable certain icons on the map that make it more realistic to use, but even then it's nearly impossible to get lost), and there's basically no reason to go exploring just for the sake of exploring. It's an extremely linear story.

That being said, I found the story very engrossing, and even creepy at times, without giving too much away. I feel like the game is short enough that I really don't want to say much of anything about the actual plot, or it would lessen the experience. It felt a lot more like an extended movie to me than a videogame at times, although I don't believe the story would work in a movie format very well. Overall I never really felt bored during my playthrough. There was always something that had my interest, right up until the very end.

I feel like Firewatch is the kind of game that is very difficult to recommend to people, because it's difficult to predict how they would react to it. Some people love it and some people think it's boring and sucks ass. Meh. I enjoyed it so I'd recommend it.

#37 Zowie vs Razer in TF2 General Discussion

For people who have had both a deathadder and a zowie ec1/ec2: Is the liftoff distance difficult to adjust to when switching between them? I'm heavily considering picking up an ec1. My deathadder is getting a little ratty.
