PhantomI remember we asked for esea medals in this season's invite leader meeting so perhaps thats all it took..?
Originally valve wouldn't give medals for third party paid platforms in the game. It was pointed out that RGL is a paid league with medals so people decided to ask again.
Additionally it seems that valve isn't trying to pretend that ESEA/ESL don't exist anymore as I am fairly sure they advertise their streams in the csgo main menu.
